A very big day for Jenna Whitson: she is released from the hospital!
I never thought, in a MILLION years, that this day would FINALLY come!
I am so happy I don't know whether to laugh right out loud or cry tears of joy!! I am being RELEASED from the HOSPITAL today, and I am waiting for Michael to come and pick me up, where we will then be on our way to Louisiana!!
I am presently sitting in the wheelchair, dressed, with my coat on and my suitcase all packed and waiting beside me. I am also holding my stuff from the hospital in my lap, and I would love to be able to ditch this stupid cage I had on my leg, or leave it here at the hospital, but the nurses say they can't use it again, so it's mine to keep. "Think of it as a souvenir from your hospitalization," they tell me. GREAT. As if I NEED to be REMINDED of all the hell and pain I had to go through these past several months as I lay in the hospital, broken from head to toe...ARRGGH!!
I also have the crutches, and I still have this stupid brace on my leg and also a walker (which I'll be using first before I get to the crutches; my leg and hip are still a little stiff and weak, and my one arm is weak, too, so I have to use the walker for a while before I use the crutches); they are going with me too.
This is Jenna Aurora Whitson, in case you haven't noticed. I am so glad I am going to meet Michael's family (FINALLY!); they are tickled pink at meeting me, and they can't WAIT to meet me and show me a Cajun good time! I can't wait to meet Michael's family either; but I don't know how I am going to put up with a bunch of Cajuns! I have heard that Cajuns are WILD, and if Michael is any indication of that, then I am in a heap o' trouble! LOL Don't know if this Alaskan can take a group of wild-ass CAJUNS!!
I will be in Louisiana probably until the fall, after Michael and I get married; our wedding date will be in a little less than six months from now (we are getting married on September 11, 2004 in Shreveport). I will be staying at Michael's house, with him and his new dog, "Aurora" (named after guess who??). "Aurora" is an Alaskan Husky/Malamute mix, and I hear that she is very intimidated by strangers. GREAT. As long as the dog decides not to have ME for a treat, then I don't have ANYTHING to worry about..oh, NOOOOO....NOTHING at all!
Maybe once we get to Shreveport, we can FINALLY get in a little gambling; after all, that was my ORIGINAL intent before I got hurt: I was going to meet Michael's Cajun family and also do a little gambling on the side, and maybe go to Mulate's Cajun Restaurant; but then that stupid accident happened, and I nearly was history; but thanks to the love and prayers from Michael, and also the dedicated doctors and nurses at Nashville Memorial Hospital, I am now well enough to go home after MONTHS of torture and pain and MISERY, and I am FINALLY free!!! YAAAAAAY!!!!!
Whoops! Michael is here; so I have to go! I will write again soon; maybe I will write while I am on the road headin' towards Louisiana. We have a very long trip ahead of us, and I am probably going to regret sitting in a car on my bums when it is already sore...Until I yak at cha again via the laptop, this is Jenna Aurora Whitson signing off.
