Ronee' records her thoughts about her vacation as she and her parents and brother travel "the high seas" on their way to Alaska.
I can't believe it, but we are actually on VACATION!! We are on our way to Alaska, and I am writing this from my laptop! We are on a HUGE ship, and we are going to Alaska for two weeks!
This is Ronee' again. I am sitting here on the deck of the ship, enjoying the heck out of myself, and I am writing and eating some jello and yogurt; and I am drinking a Coke. (Really nutritious, I know, but I NEED some fuel! LOL) I have made some friends here on the ship, and I saw Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and also Donald Duck and Goofy! (As you can probably surmise, we are on a Disney Cruise.) I am having a total blast, and now that the weather has gotten sunny out, I can sit on the deck and look out at the wide expanse of water as we sail our way towards Alaska!
Maman and daddy are with me; I don't know where Johnny is at the moment. I am sure he is either at the snack area or is at the Game Room, where he is probably playing one of his video games. You would think that Johnny would get sick of playing video games hour after hour, but you don't know my brother. Johnny is a video game FREAK, and if there is ONE thing he LOVES, it is to play video games! Plus he really can't do a lot, what with his being in a wheelchair or having health problems, so I guess playing video games is a GOOD thing for him because it keeps his mind and co-ordination sharp, and it keeps him out of trouble! Maman and daddy are sitting on the deck, too, talking about what we may do when we get to Alaska. I hope that, when we DO get to Alaska, I can see the Northern Lights; that would be TOO COOL!!!!
I have been feeling PRETTY good; my joints aren't bothering me so much at the moment, and I am breathing with very little difficulty; I know by the way I am breathing that my asthma isn't bothering me, and I am GLAD of THAT! Having asthma is a royal pain in the ASS!! Having JRA is no picnic either, but at least I am NOT sick or having problems with either my asthma OR my JRA! (Hope it lasts; I HATE it when my asthma or JRA acts up!! Nothing like a little pain or breathing problems to ruin a perfectly good vacation, you know??)
I am looking forward to meeting Michael Doucet (not THE Michael Doucet of "BeauSoleil", the "World's Greatest Cajun Band"; this is a different Michael Doucet! LOL) and his sweetheart, Jenna Aurora Whitson! Maman has told me so much about them, and I am really looking forward to meeting them! Michael is a Cajun, like me, and he lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, until only recently. But he DID live in Alaska once before; his daddy was in the service in Alaska, and he was in Alaska for three years while his daddy was in the service. He then went back to Louisiana until just a few weeks ago, when Jenna had him move in with her, to her apartment. As for Jenna, she is part Inuit, and Michael says that she is adorable, according to maman. Maman thinks the world of Jenna, and so I guess that is okay; don't have to worry about her (or Michael so much!). Maman met Jenna last November, when she was in a car wreck, and she was in the hospital for months recovering from her injuries; and she just got out of the hospital only a few weeks back, and she is now back home in Alaska, where she lives (Michael and Jenna both live in Anchorage), and she is continuing her recovery from her injuries. I guess she was hurt pretty badly; otherwise, WHY would Jenna be in the hospital for nearly FIVE months?? (THAT would drive ME crazy if THAT happened to ME.)
When we are in Anchorage (three days we will be in Anchorage), we will be staying with Michael and Jenna; and I can't wait to meet Jenna OR Michael!
I wonder what we will do in Alaska: whether we will see any bears or other Alaskan wildlife, see the aurora borealis (that is my dearest wish right now; I LOVE those northern lights!), see any Inuit people, or get to go shopping. I would love to get my hands on an Inuit doll or a parka like the Inuit wear; I bet I would make a CUTE Inuit girl! LOL
Well, I guess I better go; maman and daddy both told me that it is time to round up Johnny, and we are going to go see one of the shows they have scheduled on the ship. I will write again when we get to Alaska! In the meantime, I have to stay on board of the ship; I can't SWIM to Alaska! LOL That would be an AWFULLY long way! LOL
