Wendy Williams, aged 4, talks about herself (with some help from her mommy, Kendra). (Am taking a bit of a break from the Sanduskys and their Alaskan adventures until I get the last two Williams kids' stories in!)
Wendy Williams is my name. I am four years old, and I live in California with my mommy, Kendra, my baby sister, Keisha, and my older sisters, Mia, Mariah, Sally, Sarah, Kelly, Kim, Linda, Mary, and Francie. There are 11 of us girls in the family.
I was born in a faraway country called India, but I was burned when I was really small, and now I have scars, and I have pain. It isn't easy because sometimes I feel so sad because I am hurting, and sometimes I cry. Mommy tries her best to comfort me when I am in pain, and I am always glad that she is there, so she can hold me in her arms until I stop crying. I have had several operations, which were no fun, but I may need more someday. I hope not; being in the hospital is no fun because all they do is hurt me or stick me with needles; and I DON'T like that AT all!
I have long, black hair, big, black eyes, and skin that is brown; and I am short and skinny for my age. I am four, but I look more like I am two or three. I like to wear brightly colored clothes and dresses, and I think I look good in colors like yellow, orange, green, and blue. I also love pink and red.
I like to play with my sisters (especially my baby sister!), go to daycare (next year I start kindergarten!), and go to church, where I love learning about Jesus. I also love to play with my dollies and my toys and play games like Pretend and Grown Up Ladies. I like to pretend that I am mommy, and that my dollies are my kids. I named my dollies Kendra, after mommy, and I also named some after my sisters and my daycare friends.
Some of my sisters can't walk at all, and they sit in wheeled chair like thingies, and some of my other sisters CAN walk, but they use sticks and wear hard shiny things on their legs to help them walk better; and some of my sisters are slow; they can't learn good, and so they need help. I am okay, I can learn and I can walk, but I was burned, and I have pain; and this was why I was adopted by my mommy because nobody wanted a burned up little girl from India; so mommy took me in to be her little girl. I am glad because I now have a family I can call my own, and I have many sisters who all love me. I was adopted when I was really little, almost a baby, I think.
I am a very good little girl, I mind myself, and I know right from wrong, but I sometimes get sneaky, and I do things that make mommy or my sisters mad. Hey, I am only four; I don't know sometimes how to act! I hate it when my sisters tell me what to do or tell me how to behave or tell me that if I don't behave I am going to get a licking from mommy! But I DO like it when they are nice to me, and I like it when we play together!
I will write more soon. I have to get ready to go to daycare. 'Bye!
