Barbara acts as boss and caretaker while her parents and two of her siblings are on vacation to Alaska.
I kind of like this babysitting business. I am in charge, and I get to enforce the rules on my younger brothers and sisters! I even have help in my older siblings that are still left at home!
Maman and daddy are in Alaska now; they should be calling anytime to let us know that they are there. I hope they call soon; they usually let me know when they get somewhere, and I DO know that Alaska is a very long way from here! So I expect them to call as soon as they get to their destination! Johnny and Ronee' are with maman and daddy; they went with maman and daddy to Alaska because last month was their anniversary date of their adoption, and maman and daddy really never celebrated it because of the arrival of new kids into the family, unexpected family or personal crises, or whatnot; so it is like their adoption date was virtually ignored--that was, until now.
I kind of wish that maman and daddy had invited the REST of us kids along; I mean, we would have LOVED to have gone to Alaska, too, you know! Alaska seems like a very pretty place, and I hear the scenery up there is flat out spectacular! But dragging 48 other kids along BESIDES Johnny and Ronee' WAS quite expensive; so we had no choice BUT to stay home! Besides, Johnny and Ronee' HAVE been with the family for almost 11 years now (they joined the family when they were just little babies not more than three months old at the time!), and as I said, they really never had a celebration of their anniversary date of their being adopted into the family; and maman and daddy wanted to do something special for them; so this was why THEY got to go to Alaska and we didn't. Maybe when one of OUR adoption anniversary dates come up, we can go to Alaska as well; one can only hope! LOL
So far, the kids are being good; no major problems or health scares to report of as of yet (KNOCK ON WOOD! Hope it lasts!). The kids are minding me and my rules, and to give myself a break, my boyfriend, Trent, has been over to help; and he's been a lot of help. Trent likes the kids, and the kids like him, too, so it works out great!
I do hope I hear from maman or daddy soon; I HATE not knowing whether they got to Alaska or not! They said that it may be as long as three days before they get to Alaska by way of their ship; so if they don't call right off, I will know why. But I do hope to hear from them; I don't want to hear that their ship crashed or they got marooned on some desolate island...(come ON, Barbara..think PLEASANT thoughts, here!!) I wouldn't want them to be on this island without any medicine or food; that may just prove to be disasterous...
Whoops! There goes the phone..maybe it's maman or daddy calling all the way from ALASKA! Maybe they are there! I hope so!! I will write more later! C-ya!!
