Barbara writes from the home base and lets us know how she and her remaining brothers and sisters fared while their parents (and two more siblings) were in Alaska for two weeks on an Alaskan cruise.
Hard as it may believe, we managed to survive these two weeks without killing one another! LOL We managed to pull off two weeks by ourselves while our parents (and two siblings, Johnny and Ronee') went to ALASKA! They went on a cruise to Alaska for two weeks, and the reason they went (and not us, DARN it!) was because they (meaning mom and dad) never really celebrated Ronee' or Johnny's adoption date anniversary, so they decided to take them on the cruise (plus mom and dad had always wanted to go to Alaska; this was something they had been saving on--and planning--for years; but never got around to it, thanks to the rapid arrival of more kids into the family, the unexpected emergencies involving some of the sicklier kids, or whatever).
This is Barbara, in case you haven't already figured that out. I am glad we managed to pull off living by ourselves without destroying something (although we DID have to call a plumber over to our house once after Roberto stuffed a wet diaper down the toilet and tried to flush it; boy you talk about a ROYAL MESS! It was DISGUSTING!) or having to call the paramedics or fire department to help put out a fire or handle a medical emergency that warrented an ambulance and/or a trip to the hospital! HOW we managed to keep the house in one piece is nothing short of a MIRACLE!!
The kids also managed to keep from getting sick (but Jodie wasn't too good at it; she pukes just about every day, so an eruption from her is rather expected!), and they managed to play with their toys (or with one another) without falling or hurting themselves (or each other!); and they minded me and Steffi MOST of the time! They DID get sassy a FEW times, but Steffi, Anh, and myself lowered the boom on them if they got TOO rambunctious! We also had Grandpere' Armand and Grandmere' Therese handle the kids if they got to be TOO mischevious; and they learned that it wasn't nice to try to push our buttons or get their way! Even though mama and daddy were NOT home, we WERE the ones in charge, and what we said went; and nothing was to change that!
The ONLY bad thing about these past two weeks was hearing about daddy getting sick upon their arriving in Anchorage and having to go to the hospital for two days after he had a rather bad asthma attack; but other than that, their trip went quite smoothly! That isn't easy when you have kids like Johnny or Ronee' around: Johnny has many serious health problems that must be dealt with on a daily basis, and his sister is too precocious! She may be 11, but we always tell people she is going on 30! LOL One will NEVER know what Ronee' will pop up with when she is around people!
I also was getting rather bored during the end of the two weeks, and I was really starting to miss maman and daddy real bad; but now that they will be home tomorrow, I can concentrate on recruiting some fellow help and have them clean the wreck that is our home; or chances are they may just KILL us! (NOT really, but still..you know how gorked out parents get when they come back to a messy house after a long vacation...) 'Bye! C-ya! Also just may call Trent and have him come and help us clean up too! We want the house to be spic-and-span when the folks get home, or World War Three just may erupt at the Sandusky barracks...

Oh, I CAN'T wait til they come back from Alaska! I really miss my folks, and I really miss Johnny and Ronee'! HOPEFULLY they got us SOMETHING from Alaska; that would be too cool! :D
