A person who was once struggling (and continues TO struggle) is suddenly having blessings happening in her life. (The title came about because of a miracle that JUST occurred in MY own life! :) )
I don't know whether to laugh or cry! Something really big has happened in my life; and I am still in shock and awe whenever I think of it!
I have had many health struggles in my life: I have cancer, and I have had to have many treatments; and I also have had to have many surgeries that have left me weakened and disabled; but I have continued to hold onto the faith I have in my God and Saviour, and I have managed to come through the worst of times; and now all that bad stuff is behind me. I still have to have treatments every month, but I am pressing on, and I know that each time I go in, I am getting just a bit better, and the docs think they may have gotten most of the cancer. Now, I DID lose my breast, and I DID lose my leg; but I have always been a "can do" person with a "don't give up hope" attitude; and I am not going to let this latest one (the big C) bring me down!
I also have epilepsy; and I have had to live with seizures all my life; but I am still happy, and I have had such a large caring network of friends and family to get me through the rough times; and I also have been listening to the music of Loretta Lynn, who has been through so much herself; and I figure that if she can overcome her problems, then by God, so can I!
My name is Ronee' Le-Anne Trivas, and I am 36 years old. I am a single parent to three kids, a daughter named Loretta Lynn (named for obvious reasons! LOL) who is 13, and two younger sons, Giovonni Pedro (10), and the baby of the group, Timothy Gabriel, who is all but six. My kids have been really good during my illnesses; and I couldn't ask for better kids than I have in Loretta, Giovonni, or Timmy!
I live in Knoxville, Tennessee, with my kids; and I have had to raise them on my own, and with my disability; it isn't easy, but we do get by, and if we need any help, then my family and my friends are always there to help me. I have been having a hard time trying to accept my losses (my leg and my breast), but I know that God will get me through, and each day will only get better and better. Still, I do have my bad days, and nothing much can cheer me; but then I see my beautiful Miracles, my kids, or hear Loretta singing "There Will Be Peace In The Valley", and I can't help but to choke up or cry; and it is then when I know that God is watching out over us and will always provide for our needs!
Back to the Miracle I mentioned at the top of this letter; think I forgot to mention it to you, so I will do this now. As you know I am a struggling single parent, trying to raise three kids; and also facing disability and illness; and I haven't been able to afford my rent (I was behind by two months, and I was starting to get eviction notices from the landlord, saying that if I didn't have the money by this coming weekend, I would be out on the streets with my kids!); but then, Sunday, at church, a lady I didn't even know handed me a check for the amount for two months' rent, and she also handed me a wad of cash, "so I could get my babies some decent clothes and food", she told me; and ever since then, I have been on the verge of tears. While in the past, the tears have been sad, these tears are happy, and it is a new and unfamiliar feeling to me. I have had so much in the way of heartache and tragedy in my life, the latest one being the threatened eviction from my home, and also this cancer mess and now facing disability, and I haven't had much reason to smile lately unless I looked at my children or listened to Loretta on my worn-out stereo. My kids have given me lots of reason to smile; but they have also had to put up with my being sick or in the hospital, and the older two (Loretta and Giovonni, bless their ever-lovin' little hearts!) have had to do most of the chores and take care of the house and take care of their little brother, in addition to taking care of me whenever I was home; and they have had to clean up my messes from when I got sick or pooped in my bed from the diarrhea or try to give me pain medications when the pain got to be severe; and they have had to grow up a lot faster than most kids their age. Yet, they have emerged victorious, and they can finally start acting like the normal kids they are; and I can enjoy them, even when the boys threaten to knock each other's blocks off!
Well, I will write again; I have to take my pills, and besides, I hear Timmy crying again. I think he and his brother have gotten into another slugfest! I don't know why, but those two boys have been trying my patience lately, and with my not being well and getting over a double whammy of a surgery and coping with my losses, I am NOT in the mood!
I also have to go pay my rent (a neighbor, Wanza, will wheel me to the office), and have Wanza go to the store for me, so we can eat tonight! I will get the clothes later on; until then, they will have to make do with what they have and try not to destroy them or get them so impossibly dirty they can't get clean again! (I will do the clothes when I am not hurting so much or feeling a little stronger. Or maybe I will have the church folk bring me some clothes for the kids; they have a whole passel of clothes there!)
Until the next time I write, this is Ronee' L. Trivas signing off!
~Love, Ronee' Le-Anne Trivas, Cancer Survivor.
P.S.: I have only heard of two other people with the name of Ronee': actress Ronee Blakely, who was in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies (not that I am into those sort of movies, of which I am NOT!), and also a little up and coming singer named Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, who is coming up in country music and is starting to make a name for herself around these parts! I saw her here in Knoxville, at the Dogwood Festival, last year, and she knocked my socks off! For her small size, She had a huge killer voice, and she really could sing that Cajun and country music! She was awesome! (She reminded me of a little Cajun Loretta Lynn!)
awwwwwwww this is precious...God is our provider, and if He takes care of even the little sparrow, how much more will He take care of those who love Him? excellent write, dearheart
