Wendie Jo Malick is not doing very well; but she wanted to take the time to write.
I am sorry if I haven't written in a long time, but my kidneys are failing, and I have had to be put upon dialysis. I go to dialysis treatments three times a week, and each treatment leaves me exhausted and weak; and I just don't feel like doing much of anything.
This is Wendie Malick in Syracuse, New York. My grandma, Rose, has been sick herself; she had walking pneumonia, and although she is feeling better than she has, she is still coughing her head off, and she is still on a whole regimen of antibiotics and she can't leave the house until the coughing has stopped. She still has been taking care of me, though, and I have been worrried about her.
I have heard from M'Kaya and Franklin, and they are doing well; their son is now going on nine months old, and he is starting to try to walk and is about ready to talk. He babbles nonstop it seems, and he is really a cutie! He looks like M'Kaya, but he is going to be big like his daddy, Franklin; he is a regular butterball! He is also going to be tall like his daddy, too. M'Kaya is doing fairly well (she has her good days and her bad days when it comes to her MS), and she is also battling chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia; so she is hurting a lot of the time; but she still tries to go on despite the pain or tiredness. Franklin is..well, Franklin. He is working all the time at Jonas Bronck, still torturing...uh, er, TREATING!..the patients in Physical Torture...THERAPY!
I also heard from Louisiana Sandusky in Tennessee, and she continues to do well. She and her husband, Bill, and two of their kids, Johnny and Ronee', went to Alaska for a two week cruise, and they had a BLAST! They met a lady and her fiance' who live up there, and the lady in question, Jenna Aurora Whitson, has been having a bad time of it lately. She was in the hospital for five months after being injured in a car wreck, and she suffered devastating injuries to her hand and leg, and also her hip; plus she had a broken jaw; but she has recovered from the worst of her injuries, and she is now dealing with the aftermath and the emotions, and she is always depressed. (Kinda' like I was when I found out about my stupid kidneys and having to go on dialysis. I had a TIME of it, and I still do. I have my bad days where I am not too bad, and there are other days where I am just so goddamn mad at the whole fucking world! I am so tired of pills, so tired of needles, so tired of doctors, or hospitals I could just CHEW NAILS and spit them back out!! GRRRR!!!!)
Well, I have to go to my dialysis treatment (each treatment takes up to four hours. WHEEEEE!!!!), so I will have to let you go, but I just wanted to drop by and say hi before you think I have disappeared off the planet! I will write again, and I realized just now I have to continue with what I was writing about last time...the September 11, 2001 terror attacks..., but I will continue with that another time when I feel up to it. Until then, this is Wendie Josephine Malick saying goodbye for now!
