Dear Kendra:
I am so happy to hear that little Anna Grace will be coming home from the hospital in a few days after being so sick! What a wonderful bit of news; I can't imagine how happy you are at the news! I know how it is when little ones are in the hospital: their brothers and sisters miss them like crazy, and things just don't seem the same when one of our little ones (or even not so little ones) are in the hospital!
It seems funny how a little inch-and-a-half-long arachnid can be so poisonous--you wouldn't think that such a tiny thing could pack such a powerful wallop, but brown recluses do, as you have found out, and if one isn't careful, they can kill! But your Anna was spared, and she is indeed a very lucky little girl to survive such a deadly bite! I have taken care of people of all ages who had a run-in with the brown recluse, and you won't believe the damage those little buggers can cause! This is why they are so dangerous, especially to the elderly, babies or small children, or those with chronic conditions! They are also very dangerous to those who suffer from allergies, like my Johnny and Ronee'; but as I told you the other day, Ronee' has not been bitten by a brown recluse (and I don't want her to, either!), and Johnny has been one time when he was six. He nearly didn't make it, but only, and ONLY, by the Grace of God, he DID, and he is still very much alive today! (Sure, he still carries the scar as testiment to his ugly encounter, but now we know what to do in case he or others get bitten, and to get the needed medical help as quickly as possible!)
I bet your other daughters are sad that their sister isn't home. I wish I could just reach in through the phone and give all of your daughters (and you!) hugs! But since I can't do that, I CAN physically tell you by email or snail mail, or on the phone, and I CAN offer my prayers to the Throne and pray for continued Healing for your daughter. I also can offer the rest of you the emotional support and let you know that I care.
I just realized something...in a little over two months from now, we will be having our annual AASK picnic/adoption seminar at Centennial Park here in Nashville; and we are all getting excited! It is always a time of great celebration and hope at one of these picnics, and it is always so heartwarming to meet other families who have been touched by adoption and adding special little ones to their growing families! We have certainly been blessed by adoption, and we just can't imagine our lives without ANY of our 50 Miracles! They are all growing so fast! (TOO fast, I'd say! LOL Heck, I am already a GRANNY, several times over!!) Are you still coming?? I hope so; we have yet to get your packet stating that you are able to attend; please get that to us as soon as possible, and we will forward to the local chapter of the AASK agency! They will then take care of things, and you should all be set and ready to go! I do hope you come; I would very much love to meet you and also Anna, Linda, Mary, Francine, Sally, Sarah, Mariah, Mia, Wendy, Kim, Kelly, and Keisha!
Well, I have some news of our own, news that may shock you; but news that is turning better. Two weeks ago, we had some nasty storms that damaged our house, and we had to spend some time in a shelter for homeless or displaced persons. We had some roof damage, and also some water damage, and we also lost power for nearly a week when a tree fell on our power line and snapped the power. Seeing we have kids who rely on oxygen or gastromony tubes, we could not stay home without power, so we had no choice BUT to go to the shelter. We also have to pick up our pets, who were all found and rescued by rescue personnel, and were taken to the animal shelter (or to a local stable that was nearby, meaning our horses). We will be picking up our animals tomorrow sometime; and we have missed them like CRAZY! I bet the rescue personnel had a time with two schitzoid horses who do NOT do storms very well, several unhappy dogs and kitties of various sizes (including a tiny, four-pound, fluffy ball of terror named "Cajun Gold"; she is, as you know, my toy Pomeranian, and she thinks she is part pit bull! LOL), and birds who probably pooped all over, thanks to the stress caused by the storms and the damage thereafter! I bet our house was a disaster once the animals got through "redecorating" it! (ICK!) LOL I'm just glad that "BlueStreak" (Bill's late cat; she was an all-white Persian with blue eyes, and she was deaf) wasn't around to experience THIS; she HATED storms! She couldn't hear the thunder, but she COULD see the lightning, and the lightning scared her to DEATH! She would hide each and every time it lightninged! She would also fur out and hiss silently, and if you ever want to see a funny sight, imagine a Persian furred out in abject fear! It was HILARIOUS!! LOL ANYWAY, I will be SOOO happy when we get our animals back; it's been TOO quiet here at the house! (We got back two days ago, and the repairs have been phenonemal! The repair personnel have done an AWESOME job in repairing our roof and walls, and it now looks like an entirely different house in some ways! [Just wait until we get the bills....UGH!! Makes me ILL just THINKING of it!! YIKES!])
Because of the storms and the damage to our house, we weren't able to go to the CMA Festival. It wouldn't have been so bad hadn't we already prepaid for our tickets back in January; now all we have left are some dead tickets that are now no good, and we missed some great photo ops and country music in the process! Oh, well...there's always next year, but this is the first time we have missed Fan Fair (now called the CMA Festival) since we first started going nine years back!
But now things are starting to settle, and as soon as we have our animals back, life should slowly return back to normal as we once knew it! (But then, life for US is NEVER completely "NORMAL"! LOL)
Well, Keisha, thank you for letting us know about Anna and the fact that she is doing better! I will let the church know as soon as I get off the computer with you, and they will be more than happy to hear the praise report! Hallelujah, God is so good, isn't He??
