Johnny and Ronee' are officially 11 1/2 years old today, and their family is planning a huge half birthday blowout.
It's Karla's and my birthday today; today IS our birthday! We are ~45~ today!! YIKES!
Ronee':
Now I know why our family has been acting so strangely: they are going to throw a birthday celebration for my brother, Johnny, and myself. I see all the signs, and it is hard not to see the banners strewn all about the kitchen or livingroom, and it is hard not to see the excited grins on the faces of our family!
Oh, our birthday isn't until December, but Johnny and I both got gypped: Johnny's birthday isn't until December 26, the day AFTER Christmas, while I am a Christmas baby: my birthday so happens to be ON Christmas Day! So today officially marks our half birthday, which makes both Johnny and myself 11 1/2!
I also have heard mama talking on the phone, and she has been talking about us. She doesn't think we know, but the truth is, we DO; and I KNOW that the conversations she's been having on the phone has to do with US!
Johnny:
It is like Christmas, even though the calendar says it is only June. There are mysterious "boxes" being put into the livingroom, but mama and daddy tell Ronee' and myself NOT to go in there, or they will be MAD at us, and we will get into big trouble. I have also seen mama messing around with a cake, and she has been putting candles on the cake, and all the while, she is singing her head off, so I KNOW that there is gonna' be one humdinger of a party! I wouldn't be surprised if there are cars pulling right into our driveway right now!
Ronee':
I guess we may have been gypped when we were born, seeing our birthdays are so close to Christmas, but on the other hand, this way, our birthdays are NOT forgotten, and we get to get presents twice a year, just like any normal kid whose birthday doesn't FALL on Christmas or so close to or after it! It wouldn't have been so bad had we gone to our full nine months in our mama's bellies; but noooooooooo....our mamas decided that they were ready to have us in DECEMBER instead of in March, and they couldn't WAIT to have us! We wanted to get out of there as quick as possible! So this is why our birthdays are in December, instead of in March, which was when we were supposed to BE born!
Johnny:
I don't mind having a birthday in December; and I don't know why Ronee' is so tied up in knots about it! After all, we DO get to share a birthday with Jesus, and there isn't a better Person whom I share a birthday with than HIM! But Ronee' HATES having a Christmas Birthday; and I see NO problems with it! The ONLY bad thing about it is everyone seems to forget our birthday whenever they see us. They DO wish us a Merry Christmas, but what they fail to realize is this: it's not ONLY Christmas--it's our birthday, too!
Ronee':
Whoops! I see the first of our company arriving. Yep, there IS gonna' be a party..I just KNOW it! I had better get off the computer, or mama is gonna' be mad! So bye!
Johnny:
I will write more later; guess it is time to go. I will write about our party and what happened later on; so until then, see you!
"...It is like Christmas, although the calendar says it is only June. ..." I love this line, I love this write, and most of all, I love you--very much. I'm glad we share birthdays. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEETIE!
(((HUGS))), karla.
