Johnny and Ronee', now 11 1/2, write about their birthday party.
Johnny:
We had fun at our half birthday celebration; but we had to have it indoors because the weather got rainy, and we didn't want to get all wet. Of course, Ronee' was hurting with her arthritic joints aching, but she still had fun despite the pain she was in, and it wasn't long before she forgot all about it, especially when she saw all the decorations, the cake, and stuff.
We had a nice half birthday celebration: we got nearly $100 each from family and friends, and we also got some new clothes, passes to Chuck E. Cheez, Cinemark Movie Theatres, and to the Bowl-A-Rama, several more remote cars (I did, Ronee' didn't get those), and some books and stuff. Ronee' got clothes, the passes to the movies and to Chuck E. Cheez, and the Bowl-A-Rama, and she also got some art stuff and a new journal.
The only bad thing about it--besides the weather, that is--was that Ronee' was recovering from a beesting, and her face was still swollen up. She got stung on the cheek by a bee last Tuesday, and she was in the hospital for two days, until Thursday afternoon, and all she did Friday was sleep; but by Saturday, she was fine. Her face was still swollen, and she looked like she had leftover mumps, but at least her hives were going away. We had to call an ambulance for her and the whole bit, and when the paramedics came, it was highly exciting, but at the same time, it was also quite scary, especially when Ronee' was having so much trouble with her breathing.
Ronee':
I did have a nice half birthday celebration, but as Johnny just mentioned, I had an encounter with a bee--the bee won, as you can see--, and I ended up having to go to the hospital when I had an anaphylactic shock reaction to the sting. The stupid bee stung me on the cheek, and my face swelled up like a balloon, and I busted out in a sea of hives, and I had sudden problems with my breathing. I was upset about that, but I was mainly upset because I was more worried about the party than myself, and I was afraid that I would be in the hospital for my half birthday; but thank GOD I got out two days beforehand! It was too close to call, and I was so mad when I had to go into the hospital!
I got a lot of nice stuff, including money, movie passes, clothes, some new reading material, art supplies, and a new journal. I had a great half birthday, but it would have been better hadn't I gotten stung by that DUMB old bee and ended up in the hospital with a swollen face and HIVES! Those were the worst, and I am STILL itching! STUPID hives--I HATE 'em!! GRRRR!!

We had some of our friends in the neighborhood come to our half birthday party, and we also had a surprise visit from our friends in Alaska, Mike Doucet and his wife-to-be, Jenna Whitson; we did NOT expect to see them, and it was such a surprise when we DID see them! Michael and Jenna came down all the way from ALASKA for our half birthday celebration, and they looked GREAT! Jenna was still in her wheelchair, but at least she didn't look so pale or so sickly anymore, and she said that she was doing a lot better, which was super to hear! I first met Jenna and Michael when we went to Alaska back in April, and they were SUPER!!
Ronee':
I was so thriled to see Jenna and Michael again. They came to our half birthday party, and they looked SUPER, especially Jenna! She looked like she was getting around MUCH better, and she didn't look like death warmed over! She actually had some COLOR to her face, and she looked like she was putting on some weight! The last time I saw her she was skinny as a rail, and I was so worried that she was going to starve halfway to death! Michael looked great, too, and he was happy to see us doing so well; but he and Jenna both were sorry about hearing of my recent encounter with the bee, and they were glad that I was out of the hospital and was feeling better.
Johnny:
Seeing Jenna and Michael all the way from Alaska was probably the highlight of our entire party, and also having everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to us, and giving us presents. We also played games, and we had a pinata, which was a blast. We were doing good, but then mama went to hit it, and she ended up breaking daddy's video camera instead when she smacked the lens with her cane. Daddy was NOT happy! So now we don't have a video of our party because of mama! I was sooo mad at her!
Ronee':
My favorite part of the party was the pinata--I didn't break it; I tried, but I kept missing!--, and I also liked playing "Pin The Tail on the Donkey". I did pretty good, but then I stuck mama right in the ass with the thumbtack, and she got sore at me. She was NOT amused! I also liked it when everyone sang "The Birthday Song" to us and gave us our presents. It was a lot of fun, and I am glad that we had everyone there! Especially Jenna and Michael: that was NOT expected AT all, and to see them was probably the bestest part of the entire celebration!
i love this--well written, sounds like quite a party...unexpected guests, a bee crashing the works...ronee' almost winding up missing the whole thing...and there went some money, 'cause ronee' said the "ass" word LOL and there went the video camera, mama's gotta buy a new one LOLOLOL fun had by all :)
