Dear Kendra:
This is Louisiana writing. How are you? Hope this finds you and your girls all well and happy! We are at the present doing quite well for ourselves, now that the drama involving our house is overwith and the necessary repairs have been made! It is so good to be home again!
How was your Independence Day? Ours went very well, except for a durecho (severe thunderstorm with heavy winds--not tornadic, but bad enough!--and rain and lots of lightning and thunder) that blew through our area, just as Ronee' was to sing at the Nashville Fourth of July BLAST! Festival and Celebration! Ronee' (or the rest of us, for that matter!) were NOT hurt in ANY way, thank God, but Ronee' had her set postponed; and she couldn't perform as scheduled. She did manage to sing during the evening's patriotic set, prior to the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and the fireworks, but she only sang one song ("God Bless America"). We had a great time at the festival, and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Now we are getting ready for the AASK picnic/adoption seminar to be held at Centennial Park (the same place where the Fourth of July BLAST! Celebration and Festival was held), and we have been having to get ready for it. We are expecting many families to attend; and we did get your packet on Tuesday in the mail! It is soo refreshing and good to know that you and the girls are able to come to our seminar! That is wonderful news! Thank you for sending off the packet; I got it, and I took it to the local AASK office; and they were more than happy to receive it! So now you and your family are included, and you are all ready! All you have to do is show up! LOL I am really looking forward to meeting not only you, but your 12 Miracle children, and I am sure that you are looking forward to meeting us in return! The kids are besides themselves with excitement, and they can't WAIT to meet you or the children!!
How are your daughters doing? How is Anna adjusting to her life in America, and has she had any more encounters with spiders? I certainly hope not; spiders are NASTY things!! Tell them all hello from us, and give them our love; and give them extra (((HUGS))) and XXX's from the Sandusky crew!!
Our children are all doing quite well, but Ronee' DID have an encounter with a bee four days before Johnny's and her half birthday party; and she was in the hospital for two days (Tuesday through Thursday) due to an anyphylaxis attack; but she has since fully recovered, and it is as though nothing has happened because she is acting like her typical active, very precocious self! LOL But we have gotten her hospital bills; and we have to get a hold of our insurance so we don't have to pay the entire bill! (We DO have to pay for those services that the insurance didn't cover, but thankfully, MOST of the bill was covered!) Johnny is getting ready to go to his muscular dystrophy camp next month (one week after our picnic!), and he is really excited at the prospect of seeing his buddies again! He really has quite a blast at the camp, and he really loves spending time with his buddies! He is still doing fairly well (that is, there have been no rude or unexpected surprises involving his MD), and it is as though his disease has slowed down. He is the same now as he was since February, and he is holding his own, thank goodness. He still has to have the oxygen, and he still has to have his heart/breathing checked every month, as well as his therapy sessions, but at least he isn't doing any worse! He is still able to do SOME things for himself, and he is more determined than ever to try to beat this disease as long as he possibly can!
Our daughter, Tanya, is considering on joining the United States Marine Corps; she went to the recruiting office last week and registered; and she is now waiting word from them, to see if she was accepted. If so, she will have to have a physical; and if she passes THAT, she will have to go to Camp LeJeune in South Carolina for training and classes on "how to become like a Marine". I don't know what will happen after that; but we will take things as they come, one day at a time, and she will probably go somewhere like Haiti, Africa, or wherever she may be needed. I hope she doesn't have to go overseas; but if she has to go, she has to go, no questions asked; and all we CAN do if she DOES go is pray for her safety and well-being and ask God to surround her with His Angels, Mercy, and Protection from harm and danger! So we may have our first "Marine" in the Sandusky Family! :) (Just what DO they call female recruits in the U.S. Marine Corps? "Marinettes?" LOL I don't know...LOL) I can just see it all now: "PFC, Tanya Marie Elizabeth Sandusky, U.S. Marine Corps!" :) Of course, Roberto, our Marine friend, has been giving her the "finer points" of just what it "means to be a Marine", and I am afraid that some of what he has told her has NOT been at ALL ladylike! He has been teaching her how to annoy the D.I. without getting caught, how to march out of step, just to throw the other recruits off, and stuff like that, as well as how to curse in several different languages! LOL He has NOT been a good help, and at times I get so annoyed at him I want to pull his Marine head off! LOL
And Lightning, our oldest daughter, had her babies--that's right: TWINS!--on July 4, 2004! She had twin boys! So now I have two brand new grandsons to spoil! They are all doing well, and the names of our two newest grandchildren are Tyrell Shane and Tyreese Shaquell Williams. They were one month early, and they weighed 5 and 4 pounds exactly. They are still in NICU, but they are breathing on their own, and right now, things are looking very good for them. They will be released within a week or two, depending on when Tyreese reaches his 5 pound weight. They are no longer on supplimental oxygen, and they are starting to eat on their own with very little problems. So now I am a grandmother again X two! :) And to two gorgeous little boys! Oh, they are BEAUTIFUL; you should see them!!
Well, that is about all that is new with us, so I shall let you go now. Please tell your beautiful children hello from us, and tell them we are looking forward to meeting y'all next month at the AASK picnic! Do take care of yourselves and if you need anything, ANYTHING at all, please do NOT hestitate to let us know, pronto! God bless each and every one of you, and thank you for taking care of your daughters! They sure do look like they are flourishing under your love and guidance! And you look great, too, judging from your latest picture you sent us!

OH, OH, OH!! Before I forget...Please keep Jenna Aurora Whitson in your prayers! She has a pinched nerve in her back, and she is scheduled to undergo a combination MRI scan/myelogram. She is understandably scared and upset about it! She has that done tomorrow at the hospital in Anchorage, and depending on the results of both tests, she may have surgery. I will keep you all informed about Jenna and her situation; but in the meantime, any (and ALL) prayers are greatly appreciated and needed! Thank you so much!!
