(This text has recently been unearthed in Ainrofilac, Egypt. It was preserved in a tomb hidden under the great tree of Egdelwonk. This story has been translated using great care and expertise of the scribe Yrotsih.)

I am very interested in feedback from readers so I can fine tune this piece.
Thanks in advance, Mark

Along the Nile near Napata, my kingdom sparsely lay. I Mar-Kont-His, child of the Pharaoh Chramon and mate of Nacirema ruled. My underlings feared and admired my style of rule. While I had not at this time asserted myself to be one of the greatest of Kings, my destiny lie waiting. My favorite peer Xnihps resided among with my closest family and was considered so. My house was peaceful and secure.

In these times I considered a fitting tribute to my empire and the expense necessary to build a suitable legacy. I decided to embark on a parade to raise tribute to me. These tributes would help to fund my burial chamber and symbolize my control over the Nile's children.    When after the Routine flood of the Nile and prior to Anubis’ decent that day, I commenced the fleecing of my subjects, demanding their finest tributes, harshly dealing with my subjects who are afflicted with greed. Later in my throne room, I enjoyed the spoils and partook in some of the fresh delicacies. I was particularly honored to discover a rare fruit, in fact, among the most rare of all fruits the Yrrehc, similar to the succulent red grapes but with a single seed larger than that of grapes. I ate many Yrrehc’s and shared one with my most loyal scribe, Ebircs.

It seems this fruit so satisfying that perhaps a nap is in the stars. Falling into deep slumber I awoke in my soul the most fantastic experience.  This revelation so realistic that I doubt it was a dream at all. I am very excited as I awake to share these visions of the future with my kingdom. Surely the Pharoah of the future or divinity could command much more tribute than I currently receive.

It shall come to pass when gods are as common as desert sand; most any deity can instantly incant, flame within thy hand.  Walls of water will dance around melted rock trees.  Ancestors of Xnihps are served by mankind; fed, stroked lavishly, and allowed to prowl at will. On frozen rivers, and across mighty winds gods travel eternity’s vastness with speed never before measured. Parting great oceans and seas with rock and trees are everyday pleasures of the future gods. Infidels who know not the wrath of the gods are permitted to break laws long enough to be striped of their immortality, this is done primarily for entertainment purposes and as a way to fill the coffers of the gods and lords of the lands.  Tribute is still paid in penitence as well as blood. In that respect things are much the same. Art in the future is clearly a lost cause, with fantastic thinking machines accounting for most of the valuable creations. Art of this kind can survive time without so much as a chip in the material. The science that creates these incredible thinking machines, will invariably replace thought for humans. But the law of the gods will ensure that taxation is exponentially increased to keep pace with societal advancement.  With so many gods and stories of their adventures, it seems unlikely that subjects will be able to digest the true richness or understand any of the truth in nature.  As advanced as these evolved gods are they are clueless about much of the traditional wisdom. For example, they still have no idea about how to control the weather, or about the depth and mysteries of the civilized underworld of the deep. Pioneer gods travel beyond new land of the earth and routinely visit the stars to confer with each other and enjoy a recreational hike.

I will stun both man and gods as I share these prophecies. I expect my status and my legacy indeed my true calling will be realized. I will truly take my place among the legendary gods of Egypt.  I will be immortalized beyond man’s understanding and will live immortally beyond these glorious times and notable achievements. I will make others believe the future, today and become the primary god of prophecy.

Ebircs, I see you have awoken from your slumber to serve, and serve me you shall. You will chronicle my visions; my rise above lesser gods, my prominence in society.

Why can I expel not the night and rise the dawn? Why are you now getting weak and lying in the bones of others? Where is love and how do I reach thee? Could it be that my slumber convinced the land so completely that I am entombed? Could I die? What of this fantastic future? It seems I will take my secrets to my grave, and this one last chance to reach my destiny will out-live my BA. I do hereby affix my KA in these words and wait for my destiny, trapped and alone, awaiting my resurrection. My Elkniw Prophecy.

This is an intriguing little piece of fiction. Is it a dream transcribed?
There are a few typos and a couple places with too many words.

If this is a translation, places that have missing words (and guessed at additional words) need to be indicated ... such. This would make it more 'authentic'.

Reminds me of The Egyptologist,
René

Interesting piece of writing. Fiction or true document, these prophecies describe in clear vision some of the shortcomings of our civilisation - knowing a lot about everything, but missing the point.

Thanks for sharing this intriguing document. Franz
