Jodie continues her story, in her own words. To type the following story took her well over three and a half hours with her head pointer. (She can't type with her hands because of severe spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. She is in a wheelchair, and she has never walked on her own.)
Hi! This is Jodie again. I write more about myself, to tell you more about myself.
I now 13 years old. I'm a big girl. I got many nice things for birthday, including toys, new clothes, new shoes, more pretties for my hair. I got many pretty clothes for school, next month I will be in junior high. I will be 7th grade girl. My teacher is to be Mrs. Kelly. I had her last year in school, she was very nice! Why else would she be my teacher? They wouldn't let a mean person be my teacher! (At least, I HOPE they don't!)
My family, they have birthday party for me. My birthday was in July, on July 11. My friends from school came to my party, it was good to see everybody. We have cake and ice cream, but me, I have my tube stuff. I can't eat like regular people, I get my food in a tube in my tummy, and they put my food in the tube, and it goes to my tummy. I eat this way because I can't chew or swallow. It is easier for me to eat this way. But they let me taste the ice cream and cake, it was very good. I just wish they could put it in my tummy tube and have it go down that way instead of having to eat the liquid stuff! UCH!
During the party, we play games, and we sing songs, and we laugh and have fun. I got to wear a special party hat with my name, Jodie, on it, and everyone sang to me. I laughed when they sang because they were singing for ME! I felt like a movie or tv star!
I have had a good summer. We saw the fireworks on July 4, and we go to festival. We also went to the zoo, I saw my favorite animals, the cheetahs. The cheetahs are spotty-dotty and are very fast. I wish I could go that fast in my wheelchair! That would be neat! We are going to Louisiana this month, we are going to Cajun music festival, we will see Cajun music singers there and I will get to dance in my wheelchair, which is always fun! I always have fun at Cajun music festival, I can't wait until we go!
Then, after Cajun music festival, we go get ready for school, have to get paper, pencils, pens, clothes, so we look good when school starts. School then starts after Labor Day. Then I will be busy with school, and I won't get to play so much because the days, they will be shorter, and I will have to go to bed earlier. I don't like that. I'd much rather stay up and play!
Well, I will write again. It is time for me to eat again. Daddy is getting my stuff ready, then he will hook me up, and that will be that. It takes an hour to feed me, for the food to reach my tummy. Then I won't be growly in my tummy anymore, and I can stop being hungry! So I have to go! Bye for now!

Princess Geneveive has a wonderful home, with humans who love her. She and her humans try to talk to each other but Genevierve dosn't speak human and her humans don't speak dog. Genevieve often wishes she had another dog to talk to.
