Louisiana is abed today with a combination migraine headache and sinus infection. (I have a sinus infection myself, but thankfully, no migraine! My head still hurts though! But it sure made for good inspiration in this story! Guess I am not the ONLY one who feels bad, hunh??)
Ughhhh...I wish I could just put a bomb inside my head and blow the durn thing off my body! Well, maybe NOT really, but I DO feel horrible, and it is all I can do to keep from wanting to pull my head off my body!

This is Louisiana. Guess where I am today. No, not at work (I'd be at work now, as a matter of fact!), but home in bed, sick. I have a migraine headache to end all migraines, and I have been puking my guts out! I also have a ragin' Cajun sinus infection, and right now my head and my nose feels like a football that has been kicked from one end-zone to the other! I have been lying in bed, with the pillows and covers pulled over my head, and the shades drawn; the light hurts my eyes and my head, and all I want to do is lie here and feel sorry for myself!

Bill is playing Mr. Mom (he called in work today, saying that his wife was down, and he had to act as both mother and father to our kids), and he is left to deal with the kids. The kids are being pretty good, but kids are kids, and at times they can get noisy, which does NOT sit well with my head! I also have a sore throat, a constantly runny nose, and my eyes are swollen and reddened; and the area around my eyes and cheeks are swollen and sore. My head is absolutely killing me, and my tummy is busy doing the flamenco; it is all I can do to keep anything down! I have already vomited several times already, and right now, I am sipping on weak tea, as a means of hoping to settle my upset tummy; and so far, it's managed to stay down; but I DID get sick earlier when I tried to eat some toast and some oatmeal. I have the waste can by the head of the bed, in case I lose it again, and poor Bill is having to run the trash can to the bathroom whenever I get sick, the poor dear!

Bill is going to take the kids shopping later for their school stuff; they need school supplies and some new clothes; and right now I would take them myself, but the way I feel I am in no shape in dealing with a herd of noisy, screaming kids all day, especially when they start whining about candy or toys at the check out! I am NOT in the mood, and all I want now is peace and quiet!

I tried to write to both Jenna Aurora Whitson and Sikik Eegeesiak, my friends in Alaska, but the light from the sun makes my head (and eyes) hurt even worse, and every time I try to sit up, I get lightheaded, so I have to lie back down before I lose my tummy again! My head starts doing the bedspins, and the scene wavers before my eyes, and....ohhhhhhhhhhhh! Excuse me, but I have to use the waste can again...I am going to be sick again.....

I am sorry for not writing worth anything worthwhile, but at least I have a legitimate excuse: I am sick, sicker than a dog, and all I want to do right now is lie down and die! (NOT really, but I DO feel horrible!!) I will write more when I get to feeling better; now is not a good time! I will return later! Sorry for my backing out on you like this, but I am not well, and I DO need to get as much rest as possible!

~Love, your (sick) friend, Louisiana Sandusky. (Written on Friday, August 6, 2004, at 12:23 p.m., CST) :(
