Johnny writes about his mother, who is recovering from a sinus infection, as his sister, Ronee', did earlier. He also writes about the upcoming Summer Olympics, back to school sales, and other things.
My mom is getting ready to leave the house. She just left the house to see Dr. Harlowe, her doctor, because she has a checkup, and she also is getting over a sinus infection that really knocked her down. She also had a migraine headache, and because of it, she has missed two days of work. (My mom is a nurse.)

This is Johnny. I am doing okay, but I hate it when mom is sick because whenever she is sick, we kids have to be really quiet, and we can't make a lot of noise, or daddy (or she) will get mad, and we might get into trouble. So we have to find quiet ways to amuse ourselves and try to stay out of our sick family member's hair (in THIS case, it's mom!). That means no running my remote control HUMMER or playing my video games, because I usually have the volume up on full blast, so I can hear the game, and it annoys the heck out of my family members (that is, excepting for Mario, but he is deafer than me! LOL He doesn't get mad, but the others sure do! YIKES!)

Mom became sick on Thursday, during the afternoon. She started feeling nauseated, and she said that her eyes were bothering her, and her head was ready to split open, and as time went on, the pain only got worse. That was how she knew she was getting a migraine headache because beforehand, her eyes get lightning flashes, and the light hurts them; but that is about the only time her eyes bother her. She also didn't eat supper because she said her stomach was upset, and she was afraid that if she ate something, she might throw up. Friday she wasn't feeling any better, so she called into her job, and then she was off Saturday and Sunday, but she was still sick, so it was like she didn't miss any work at all. She didn't go to work today either because she was still feeling poorly (but she IS starting to feel better), and she also had a doctor's appointment that she had to go to. Her appointment was at 2, which means she is probably at Dr. Harlowe's right now as I write this down. I only hope that she makes out okay at the doctor's, and I hope she doesn't have to go into the hospital! That would be really bad! :(

My sister, Ronee', wrote earlier about mom being sick, and she also wrote about what we were to do on Friday afternoon, so we could get out of the house for a few hours, so mom could get some needed rest. Well, we DID go to Olive Garden (I had the lasagna; that was SUPER!), and after the Olive Garden, we went to the movies, where we saw "Shrek 2". That was funny; I saw it before when it first came out, and daddy knew we liked it, so he took us to see it again. I howled throughout the whole movie, and people were getting mad, telling me to shush! My sister, Ronee', was also getting rude looks and comments from people because she was giggling like a braying donkey, and she got a little loud a few times. It was quite embarrassing!

After the Olive Garden and then Shrek, we went bowling. The bowling alley we go to (Nashville Bowling, Inc.) has handicap-friendly lanes for people like my daddy, Ronee', and myself (and our other disabled brothers and sisters), but the non-disabled ones used the regular, normal lanes, and they had a blast too. I made ten strikes total (but not in a row), and I was making spares left and right. Ronee' did a few strikes herself, but she getting more spares or splits, and she was getting mad by the time we bowled our last game because I beat her at bowling! She also did lousy because she said the ball was too heavy (for some reason, we couldn't find the lightweight balls), and that cramped her style, she said. I beat Ronee' 's score of 100 by 68 points; my score was 168 total. Ronee' did LOUSY! LOL That is very good for me, hunh? Not bad for a kid in a chair! LOL All I have to do is set the ball on the ramp and let 'er rip; and I was really smokin' those pins, I tell you! Man, I was HOT!! I was HOTTER than HOT! Man, I was BOILING! LOL

After bowling, we went to the mall, and I got some new books to read (I like the series of books about Hank Zipster, this kid with ADHD, and how he solves his problems; they are funny to read!), and I got some new computer games. I also got some video games to try out, and I also got some new back to school stuff and clothes, as they were on sale. I got a lot of new and cool things! The stores were having some major back to school sales, so we took advantage of it, and we got our stuff for school at a cheaper price.

It was nice to get out of the house for a few hours, but then we had to get back home, to mom and her sick self; and so when we got home, we put our stuff away, and I tried to stay busy by reading my new books (they were as funny as I thought they would be!) and by playing some of my new games on my computer. The day was rather rainy, and it was a nice way to pass the time, but I still was worried about mom. I hate it when she is sick because when she's sick, it's like our whole routine goes down the tubes, and then everyone panics because they don't know what to do! When mom is in charge, it is like the Marines--everything goes as planned--, but when mom is sick, it's like everything goes PFFFFFFFFFFT!, and then we have to wing it and hope that things don't turn into one giant disaster!

I can't wait until Friday: the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, start for two weeks, and I always enjoy the Olympics, be it Winter OR Summer! I hope we do well at the Olympics, and I hope that we get ALL the medals! LOL I would love to go to the Olympics myself, but don't know if I will ever get that chance. This may be the last time I will ever see the Olympics, and that makes me sad because I am not expected to be around the next time the Olympics come around. That really stinks, you know?? I would love to go to an Olympics, but I haven't yet. My friend, Roberto, and his wife, M'Buti, have gone to the Olympics twice (four years ago, to Sydney, Australia, for the last Summer Olympics, and also two years ago, when the Olympics were in Salt Lake City, for the Winter Games), and they said that they really had a blast! (Too bad they didn't get any medals; I bet Roberto would have snitched a few, knowing HIS sneaky, devious self! LOL And, knowing him, they would have been the GOLD ones! LOL)

Whoops! Mom's back! She must have not gone into the hospital because she just came into the front door; so she MUST have had a good report at the doctor's! I will have to see what the doctor said about mom, so I will go. As soon as I find out anything, I will let you know how she made out! Until then, this is Johnny signing out! Over and out! Pip, pip, cheerio and all that good stuff! LOL

~Love, your pal, Johnny, aged 11 1/2.
