Dear Louisiana:
Howdy from the land of Texas, land of bluebonnets, the Alamo, the Dallas Cowgirls (COWBOYS! ExCUSE me! LOL) and Houston Texans, oil derricks, and eternal sunshine (I WISH!)! How are things up there in Tennessee? Hope this finds you and your family well and happy!
Thank you for your last letter; it was a joy to get it! It was a pleasure to read about your husband and your children; my, you sound like quite a family! It was a delight to hear of Ronee' 's accomplishments as a singer; she must be good if she sings at the places you mentioned! Thank you for telling me that you are going to send me a copy of her CD's; I shall be honored to receieve them, and I can't wait to hear her music or her singing! She certainly must be something special!
I loved the picture of the Grand Ole Opry that you put on your last letter! I have always wanted to go there, to the Grand Ole Opry, but we were unable to get tickets (are they REALLY that hard to get?? Each time we have tried to get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, we were told they were sold out!). Have YOU ever been to the Grand Ole Opry? I figure that you must have been, seeing you DO live in Nashville, Tennessee! LOL
I have been to some of the local Opry shows here in Texas, but they don't have anything on the Grand Ole Opry. Still, they do have some terrific talent here, and some of the performers are quite young; they are only mere children not much older than your Ronee', and some are even barely out of diapers! LOL
Have you been able to catch some of the Olympic action on TV? I have only caught snippets of the Olympics on TV; with six kids to raise (including two active toddler sons!), I haven't the time! I would dearly love to be able to watch the Olympics, but with six kids to raise, that is next to impossible! LOL I can't imagine what it must be like for you with FIFTY kids! SHEESH! You must be Superwoman or something! LOL That, or you must have help; I STILL can't figure out how you do it! LOL And then you WORK, too! WOW! LOL
School starts back up here next week, and as a mother, I am really looking forward to it! The kids have been driving me CRAZY with their unending questions and demands for attention; and the two boys, Chico and Rico, have been especially demanding. They make Dennis the Menace look like he is in a COMA! LOL They have really been trying my patience lately, and I am more than ready for them to go back to school! LOL
But our oldest daughter, Rosita, goes back to her school, and we won't see her much excepting at holidays or during open house or conference calls. As you know, she goes to a school in Austin for kids with severe disabilities, and they provide her with all that she needs, something that schools here can't provide. I wish she was closer to us, and I wish she were able to do more for herself. I see these girls in the Olympics, doing their stuff, and I can't help but feel sorry for my oldest child because she can't do much for herself, and she will never be able to do so because of her severe physical and mental challenges. Still, Rosita IS a good kid, with a happy personality, and she just loves life itself! I always get sad about this time because of Rosita leaving us until next May, and it isn't the same without her being with us, as she is during the summertime.
Well, Louisiana, I must go; Rico has managed to dump flour all over Chico, and I must clean up the disaster that I am sure they left in the kitchen. I guess that means I should have been paying closer attention to them instead of writing this letter to you; but I wanted to thank you for writing to me, and to let you know that all is well in my part of the world, even with Chico and Rico dumping flour all over! But you know that kids will be kids, and Chico and Rico are certainly no exception! LOL
