Louisiana writes her friend in Alaska, Jenna Aurora Whitson, a letter, while she watches her daughter, Ronee', sleep. Ronee' broke her wrist earlier today, and she just got home from the Emergency Room, and she isn't feeling her best. She is doing this on Ronee' 's laptop computer.

Dear Jenna:
This is Louisiana in Tennessee writing. LOL How are you doing? Hope this finds you well and happy!
I hope you are feeling better with each passing day. I am feeling better; I was sick last week (had a bad sinus infection coupled with a migraine headache; it was so bad I missed three days of work!), but I am just about recovered now. But I am now nursing an injured Ronee': she fell earlier today when she lost her balance and hooked her foot on a corner of the step as she was going outside to play; and as a result, she suffered a broken wrist. Not a bad break, but still, a broken wrist just the same, and because of it, she can't use her (arm) crutches; instead she will have to use her wheelchair, and then she will have to have someone push her. She just got home from the Emergency Room not even an hour ago, and she is now asleep in her bed. I just gave her her pain medication, and she fell asleep not long afterwards; she is now sleeping heavily. I don't think anything could wake her up! LOL She is dead to the world, and she is now snoring! LOL
She will have to wear a cast on her wrist for six weeks; she can't get it wet, and she has to be careful, so she doesn't reinjure (or refracture) her wrist. She is not very happy, and she is mad at herself for falling.
But enough about Ronee' and her problems...how are YOU doing? How is Michael doing? Tell him I say hello, and tell him that I hope he is taking good care of you because if he isn't, I will have to get sore at him! LOL Tell him to stop beating you up, or I will deal with him! LOL (KIDDING!) How is your back feeling? Are you still having any residual pain, and have you seen the doctor any? What did he say about your recovery? I hope (and pray) that everything is going according to plan!
How is the weather up there in Anchorage? Has it cooled off any, and have you had any more fires or any more bouts of rain? You sure have been having some weird weather there (but then again, it has been weird ALL OVER this summer)! Here in Tennessee it has been cooler than average, and quite rainy; but today is partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70's, really pleasant. The kids have been outside a lot, and today would have been another fun day, but then Ronee' decided to fall, and now she has a broken arm. She is mad about that because she will have to have her cast when school starts in about three weeks, and she also can't play her Cajun accordion when she sings this weekend at LeCajun in Lafayette, Louisiana. We will be leaving for LeCajun on Wednesday; we will return home to Tennessee the following Tuesday. We will be gone for five days. We are really looking forward to it! We always have fun at LeCajun!
Well, Jenna, have you been capturing any of the Olympic action on tv? We have; but Micheal Phelps isn't doing as well as he was predicted to, isn't he? Maybe the pressures and expectations that were placed upon him prior to the Olympics is finally catching up to him. I don't think I could handle all that pressure; I would go bonkers! LOL We have been watching the Olympics just about every night, but tonight we are going to take a break from the Olympics and watch "Pocahontas" on the Disney Channel. I hope (and pray) that the U.S. Men's Gymnastics team does well; they are said to be about the best team the U.S. has sent to the Olympics in 20 years (the last time we won a medal in men's gymnastics was in 1984, 20 years ago, in Los Angeles, California; it's been a long dry spell for the men!), and like Micheal Phelps, all hopes are running high on the Men's Gymnastics Team!
We have a future Olympian in our daughter, Gemini, who just turned 13 back in May, and she is really coming along as a gymnast! If she continues at the path she is currently at, she just may reach the elite level in a year or two; she is really improving in her skills! It is amazing to see her in action; she does all those fancy flips just like the Olympic gymnasts do, and she makes it all look so easy! She especially shines on the floor and on the uneven parallel bars, as well as on the balance beam! She really enjoys gymnastics, and her coaches have been really good with her! She has some terrific coaches, and we think that they have done a great job!
I bet you are getting nervous, what with the wedding coming up next month on the 11th! I can't wait to meet your fiance's family, and I can't wait to meet your sister, Jerrica, or her boys Garrett and Timothy! Don't worry about things; things will go well! I will keep both you and Michael in my prayers!
Have you seen any auroras up there in Alaska? Heard that Aurora Borealis Season has gotten an early head start there. Does that mean that there will be more storms on the sun, or that there will be more opportunities for us in the Outside to see auroras? Hope so; those auroras we saw up there in Alaska were nothing short of spectacular, and we are STILL raving about them!
Well, Jenna, I must go; Johnny needs to use the potty again, and so I must get Michael or Porter up, and help them with their brother. I will write more next time. Until then, Jenna, you and Michael take care, and know if you need anything, I am as close to you as the computer or the phone! Love you both!
