Dear Louie:
Do you mind if I call you that? It seems to stand to reason that we are friends now; we are no longer strangers, although we haven't actually met face to face; yet, I feel as though I already know you. Does that seem to make any sense to you?
Thank you for your latest letter; it is good to hear from you, and I am glad you had fun at your Cajun festival. I liked the picture of the accordion you put in your letter; but that is one strange looking accordion! What kind is it? I have never seen an accordion quite like the one you put in the letter before! Glad you got to hear some Cajun music and eat some Cajun food! I love Cajun music too, but I am afraid that the food tears me up. I have ulcers, and I have also had to give up Mexican food, too, which about KILLED me! I dearly LOVE Mexican food, and I was raised with it; now it tears me inside out, and whenever I eat it, I get sick! I avoid it now like the plague!
Now, my hubby and kids will eat Mexican food, but if they are going to have it, I go out to eat; the smells about tear me up, and I can't handle the smells anymore! That is not good: a Mexican-American not being able to eat (or tolerate) Mexican food! Not good at all! Now I eat bland or spiceless foods; and I have been getting used to my new diet; but I still miss the Mexican style pizza, the chalapas, the frijoles, the refried beans, and the tacos! But I just can't handle the smells of Mexican food anymore; it makes me sick, and I have to leave, or else I may throw up!
Are you home yet from Louisiana? If not, when are you expected to get back to Tennessee? Hope you continue to have a safe journey back to Tennessee!
I am happy that your kids aren't bothered by school. My older kids think school sucks, but the littler ones don't seem to mind. I guess it is because they really haven't delved into the homework yet and are still too young and innocent to know that each year they go to school, it only gets harder! I hope your kids do well this coming school year, and I hope that your son, Johnny, has another successful run at school! You must be proud of how well he has come along when he has struggled for years before; good for him!
Our school starts up next week, in fact, Monday, August 30, 2004, is the first day of school for the kids here in Del Rio, and they are sad to see summer coming to an end. I am not; it's been too hot lately, and I am getting sick and tired of the heat! We have had no air conditioning; our A/C went out, and we have had to sleep with fans strategically placed throughout the house, so to try to keep cool, and we have been going out to eat every day because it is just too darn hot and humid to try to cook! Tomorrow the A/C man is coming to see what is going on with our A/C, and hopefully it is something he can take care of; and hopefully, it won't be too darn expensive!
Did Ronee' pass her audition for the "America's Most Talented Kids" show? How did she do? I hope she made it; I got the CD's you sent, and I listened to them; and I must say that your daughter is really talented! You say she is only 11? She sounds like an ADULT when she sings; her voice is INCREDIBLE! Has she had vocal training, or is she just GIFTED at singing? Wow, she is talented! And she is so cute! What a beautiful little girl she is! I have really enjoyed the CD's, and now whenever I listen to them, I can say "I knew her when...." LOL
Sorry to hear of her broken wrist; I hope she is recovering from that! That must be so hard for her! Tell her I hope she feels better soon and that I hope she gets the cast off soon! How long does she have before she has the cast removed from her arm?
I hope Johnny is doing well. He seems like a happy little guy, and I love how he smiles! He may not resemble you, but he is still your son, and I can tell he is a Sandusky; he seems to look LIKE a Sandusky! LOL How is his muscular dystrophy faring? Hope he isn't having too much trouble! He sure is a cutie; he is going to be a little heartbreaker when he gets a little older: the girls are going to be chasing him for sure! Look out world, here comes Johnny Sandusky, future hunk! LOL Sorry, but I couldn't resist! LOL
Well, Louie, I will let you go now. I have to change Rosita again. She just threw up all over, and she made a stinky in her diaper. She really outdid herself this time; she is looking quite proud of herself right now...I had better tend to her before she smells us out of house and home (and with the A/C's being down, it may not be long before our place smells like a combination puke/poop factory...)!

Interesting letter, and so sad about the ulcers; they can really tear a person up and prevent them from eating the food they love. If I ever have to stop eating Mexican food, I truly will be miserable.
