Jenna writes her friend an Email after learning that her friend's oldest grandchild (and only granddaughter) may have a neuromuscular disorder. She is highly upset at the news that her friend in Tennessee has told her.

Dear Louie:
I am so sorry to hear of the stunning news that you have shared with me. How awful! Is there anything that Michael or myself can do for either you and your family or your oldest child and her family? I was upset to learn that little Jamee may have to see a specialist because she has possible symptoms pointing to a neuromuscular disorder. You have already been through so much already, what with your other children and their health concerns, and already having a little son with a neuromuscular disorder! Now another member of your family may face the same fate! How very sad!
You know that Michael and myself aren't the religious type, but we will offer our prayers to our gods over you and your family~ We do not pray on a regular basis, but this seems to be one of those times when prayer is necessary! Please do know that when you do come to Louisiana on Saturday for our wedding, we will do all we possibly can to help ease your pain and grief!
Michael was as stunned as I was upon learning of the news of Jamee Nichelle! (I still think that is a beautiful name! Who named her? Her mama or her daddy?) How are her brothers taking the news? (They are probably too young to understand or care what is going on with their older sister, but eventually, things may happen, and they may need to know! I don't have kids myself, but I have been around Jerrica's boys to know that kids are sensitive to all that goes around them; and they are especially sensitive whenever bad news is involved, like with September 11, 2001.) I can't imagine the pain or fear that Lightning and Darnell, her husband, must be going through!
I am glad that you got to help out at the telethon; but we didn't watch it this year because I was with Mother. Mother has been sick lately, and she may be coming down with pneumonia. She has been coughing a lot, and she is feverish, and her chest has been hurting. The doctor says if she isn't better soon, she may have to go to the hospital. I hope not because Saturday is our wedding, and we have worked for far too long and hard to have to make any last-minute changes! If Mother should happen to have to go into the hospital, who is going to give me away? What if the wedding is cancelled altogether? What am I ever going to do??
Michael is as upset about Mother as I am; things certainly haven't been going well for either one of us, haven't they? On our side, it's my mother's health and my own medical problems (I am still battling a useless arm and ongoing depression and the fact that I will always be disabled and will never be as I was before the accident I had last year), and on your side, it's the memory of September 11, 2001, and the memory of the loss of your friends (I can't imagine what that must be like for you!), and the bad news now facing your little granddaughter! Then you wonder why I don't believe in God as you do! Why would He allow such tragedy, such bad things, to happen to people? I just don't understand Him at times; this is one reason why I have been so resistant to people preaching at me or getting angry at God and praying to my own god and Michael, his Wiccan god. Your God is too cruel; He lets these bad things happen, and I am sorry, but I just can't bring myself to believe in a person like that! If he is so good, then why must bad things still happen? Why isn't he doing anything to make our world better or to end all of these wars, terrorist attacks, or whatnot? Why are there babies starving or dying from horrible diseases, and why are there people going hungry or living out on the streets? Why?? That is about all I can ask right now!
And I can't watch the news anymore, not with the terror attacks third-year anniversary approaching! I can't bear myself to watch all those horrible images that transpired that unforgettable day, and I still have nightmares now, even three years later! I am sorry to learn of your friends' perishing in the attacks or knowing people that had friends or family dying in the attacks; no wonder you don't like to talk about that! I had no idea you went through so much horror! And you have been TO the Twin Towers? What were they like? Were they as beautiful as they appeared on television prior to the attacks? You will have to let me know about seeing the Twins; I would have loved to have gone; but never got to have that chance. Now, because of those jerks who perpetrated the attacks, I will never get to see them unless in pictures, or in films!
I will keep you up to date regarding Mother's health, and if she has to go into the hospital or not. Even if she DOES have to go into the hospital, I will have SOMEONE give me away, even if it means one of Michael's brothers or maybe even your husband! I know it is very short notice, but what am I going to do if Mother ends up in the hospital? I can't give myself away, and Father is dead; he can't do it either! Not from the Northern Lights, anyway! LOL I will be calling you quite regularly the next few days prior to your leaving for Louisiana; and I will keep you up to date on things as they develop. Until I see you later this week, you have a very safe trip to Louisiana, and I do hope that things get better for BOTH of us! See you soon! Am looking forward to meeting Barbara and seeing you, Bill, Johnny, and Ronee' again! Give them all (((HUGS))) from Michael and myself, and tell them to behave themselves!
