Dear Sari: A Letter From Louisiana Mayrah in America To Sari In Finland by Karen Lynn Vidra, The Texas Tornado

Louisiana writes her friend in Finland after Sari has written to her. She is thrilled to hear of her engagement to a man living in Greece that she met while working at the Olympic Summer Games, which were held recently in Athens.

Dear Sari:
Hai! (That is all the Finnish I know; you have just seen the extent of my knowledge of the Finnish tongue! LOL) How are you doing? Hope this finds you well and happy!
Sari, you don't know how happy I was to hear from you, and also hearing of the happy news about your engagement to Nikolas Constantinos! That is WONDERFUL news! I am so happy for you both! Congratulations on your engagement! That is SUPER!!
I am glad that you have found someone to love you and that he treats you well. It is a wonderful thing to be in love, and as an old married woman myself LOL I wish you nothing but the best in your upcoming lives together!
That was a beautiful picture of the Northern Lights that you put on your letter; Finland must be so pretty when the Lights are out in full force! I have seen the Northern Lights myself (here in Tennessee, and also in Alaska; they were much prettier in Alaska! But I am sure they have nothing on the Northern Lights they have over there in Finland!); and they are so mesmerizing to watch! As you know, my daughter, Ronee', is obsessed with the Lights, and she would love to live in Alaska if she could! When we went to Alaska this April, she was in her glory, especially when the Lights came out! She was like a little child at Christmas!
I heard from my Inuk friend, Sikik Eegeesiak (now, isn't THAT a name! LOL), in Alaska, and she is going to send Ronee' a shirt with the Lights on the front, which should thrill Ronee' to pieces! I will have to tell her that Ronee' wears a girl's, size small (8), and that her favorite color is currently teal (although she also loves purple or magenta or hot pink)! Isn't that nice of Sikik? She is certainly something special! (She lives in the northernmost part of the state, clear up in Barrow, deep in the Arctic Circle.)
I also heard from another lady in Alaska, Anna Arnette King (she lives in Anchorage, which is where my friend, Jenna Aurora Doucet--I am going to have to start getting used to putting Doucet instead of Whitson, now that she and her new husband, Michael, are now officially married!--, lives), and she wrote me a very nice letter, too. She mentioned the lights, too, and she asys that her husband, Bob, may write to me too, one of these days. She says that all is well with her, Bob, and their 11 kids. I will have to write to both Sikik and Anna when I get done writing to you!
I am glad that all is well, but I hope the weather clears for you. I know fibromyalgia isn't any fun. I have it too myself (along with osteoarthritis and degenerative disk disease in my lower back, plus I already have a bad back in the first place! I also have sciatic nerve pain, and that is no barrel of laughs, either!), but I still go on and go about my business! I am not going to let a little muscle/nerve/back/joint pain get the best of me; I am too busy, for one thing! LOL Call me a stubborn old bird! LOL I am glad that your family is well, but why did you lock your mother out of the house? You KNOW she is going to be quite mad at you, Sari! You are so bad! LOL
The weather is fine here: alternating days of sun and rain; but not too hot anymore, thank goodness. I do think that the hot stuff is behind us, now that we are starting to slide towards the fall season. I have always loved the fall; and I love winter and spring too. Summer is okay too; but it IS a bit hot! (THIS coming from a Cajun who was BORN in Louisiana! LOL Guess I am getting old; the heat is starting to bother me more than it used to. Hmmmm...LOL) The trees are JUST beginning to turn; there are small snatches of color peeking out amongst the greenery, and the days are getting shorter, too. Sure signs that fall will soon be here.
You were asking about my one and only granddaughter. Her name is Jamee Nichelle Williams, and she is six-and-a-half years old. She lives in Loveland, Colorado, with her mother (my oldest daughter), Lightning, and her daddy, Darnell, and her four little brothers; and she has Becker's muscular dystrophy. She was starting to have weakness in her muscles, and she was starting to have some trouble with her walking. She may eventually have to wear leg braces (or ankle braces), and she may use a cane, and eventually, as time goes on, she may need a wheelchair; but we are relying on God to help us get through this trial, and we are going to hope for the best for Jamee. Jamee is a strong, happy little girl, and she has such a pleasant personality; and I am hoping that she can get through this. Thank you for wanting to pray for her and her family; that means so much to me, and I am sure that this will mean so much for her family! God bless you for caring, Sari! You are a dear friend!
Well, Sari, I will let you go; I think I have bent your ear long enough. I have to get back to work; I am on break, and it is about time for me to punch back onto the clock, so I can go back to work. If I don't, they just may fire me. That would not be good...I will write more later. Until then, Sari, you take care, and God bless you always!
