Dear Louisiana:
Hello! This is Sikik Eegeesiak writing; thank you for answering my last letter so quickly!
Mother is still in the hospital, but she is off the ventilator, I am happy to say. She still is on oxygen, but she is breathing on her own, and her breathing has really improved. She is even starting to eat a little, and they have moved her out of the Intensive Care. She is now in the "Step-Down" unit; they are keeping her there, to keep an eye on her. She is also getting ornery; she is worse than a hungry Nanuq! LOL She will probably be in the hospital for at least another week, but at least, the danger seems to have passed! Thank you for your prayers for my mother; she (and I) appreciate it!
I am glad little Johnny made it through his telethon, and I am glad he had a good time! He is such a nice little boy, and it is a shame that he has to have something like muscular dystrophy! That has got to be so hard, seeing him get weaker, and there isn't really anything you can do to help him! That has got to be so frustrating! Give him a (((HUG))) from me, okay? Thanks!
As for your Ronee', I am sorry she didn't make it to the television show. I know she probably had her heart set on it! She is really quite a talented young lady; it's incredible to think of the power in her voice! She may be a child, but she sounds so much older when she sings! WOW! Tell her that I am sorry to hear of her news, but I still hope that the next time there is something that she can audition for, I hope she makes it! She should be on "American Idol"; she is that good! Maybe she can try out for that?....who knows? (It was just a suggestion! LOL)
I would love a copy of your daughter's book! Sounds quite interesting, even though it is for kids; but hey, I read anything! (Except for trashy romance novels; that I don't do! LOL) Please do send me a copy of "People Say No, But God Says Yes!: My Story of Hope and Healing"; I would probably enjoy it! Happy to hear that Johnny and Bill are also going to get on the writing bandwagon; seems that writing runs in your family! LOL
Glad to hear the weather is cooler there, but heard that you all had some serious rain up there, as a result of Hurricane Ivan. Did you get any flooding there? I hope not! From the looks of it, it looked pretty bad, what with all that high, standing water, and all that heavy rain and wind! Did you lose power from the hurricane? We don't have hurricanes here in Alaska (thank GOODNESS!); we only have blizzards and earthquakes! LOL Speaking of earthquakes, we just had a little shaker rumble through here about an hour ago; it woke me up, and at first, I thought it was Father snoring again (he snores LOUD!), but the ground was moving, and I heard that faint rumble that told me that it was an earthquake; so I just lay back down and went right back to sleep. It was just a little rumbler; nothing to worry about! Now if it were something like 5.1 or higher on the Richter scale, then I would have been a little concerned; but it was probably more like a 4, or a 4.5! LOL Have you ever had earthquakes there in Tennessee?
I am sure your adoption picnic is now history. How did it go? Did a lot of families come to it? That must be something, to see all these kids from different parts of the world being adopted into loving families! That is something I would love to do, but I am a single woman, and I don't know if I would have the patience to handle a child! I don't know how you do it with ~50 kids~; I am STILL trying to figure that one out! LOL And yet you work, write books, perform, AND take care of a big family! You MUST be part Superwoman or something! Or else God helps you out somehow! LOL
I will let you go; I am going to make myself some breakfast (I am hungry; my tummy is talking to me! I sound like a hungry Nanuq! LOL), so I wlil leave you now.
