Louisiana fires off a quickie email to her new friend in California after she got an email from her. The letter is going to be short because she has to run her friend Sari to the airport, so she can go back to Finland, where she lives.
Friday, the 24th of September, 2004, 1:25 p.m., C.S.T.~
Dear Louisa May:
I am soooooooo happy to hear from you; thanks for writing! (By the way, I still tried to read your previous letter to me, still couldn't get through for some reason; but glad that this one got to me with no problems!) Hopefully your computer troubles are overwith and done!
I am going to make this short because in about a half hour I have to take my friend, Sari Gustaffssenn, to the airport, as she is going back home to Finland today. I have been on the verge of tears (as she has) because she has been here for the past several weeks, and it's been a blast having her and her boyfriend Nikolas Constantinos (he lives in Greece; he leaves tomorrow!) here with us! They do make a charming couple, and next time I will tell you more about Sari and Nikolas! I would today, but I have to leave in about a half hour; so I don't have the time. But I DO promise that the next time you write, I will let you know more about Nikolas Constantinos and Sari Gustaffssenn and how they met! (And how I met them!)
I also have a sick child to tend to: well, he is not feeling sick, but he had a seizure, and he is now home, in bed, sleeping it off. He is doing better. The school nurse called me this morning, and I had to go to pick him up, and after I took Johnny to the doctor, I then brought him home and put him to bed; and he has been asleep ever since. He hasn't had any more problems, thank goodness.
Ronee' has been through the mill (as has Johnny), but she is a child of courage and spirit. She refuses to let her problems bring her down, and if she IS down, it isn't for long. She usually has a smile on her face, and she has such a sunny personality. (The last six weeks have tested her resolve because she just got over a broken arm, and she was in a cast for the past six weeks until yesterday. She has had to use her wheelchair because she can't walk without the aid of Lofstrand crutches, and it really put a huge crump into her life. She still has to use her chair for about a few more weeks, until her arm is stronger to where she can use her crutches again. It's really been hard on her, but she's been taking it one day at a time, and she is more than ready to ditch the wheelchair altogether and get back to her crutches!)
I heard about Kendra thinking of adding another child from Japan to her family, and I think that is absolutely WONDERFUL! I have a girl from Japan myself (Gemini), and she has taught me a lot about Japanese culture and heritage. It's really fascinating learning of other cultures and languages; but I am afraid my Japanese is still not up to par. I can only say a few basic phrases in Japanese, and that is still about it! LOL I find it a hard language to learn! LOL
Maybe next year we can come to California and see Sonora, Soulsbysville, and Jamestown. I hear that is really pretty country out there. We have been to California, but only the central and southern parts. The closest we have been to Northern Cali is San Francisco. Really pretty out there. We were in San Fran when we flew out to Cali to go to Alaska; San Fran was where we boarded our cruise ship for our cruise to Alaska; and we really had a wonderful time. The kids love San Fran; they love the Golden Gate Bridge, and they love the Fisherman's Wharf area! I did too! (I am a seafood lover deluxe; so I was in my element! LOL) We have also been to Los Angeles (Hollywood), and we have been to San Diego. But not to Northern California. Maybe next year we can get that chance; I hope so! I would really love to visit Kendra again and see her girls (and meet the new one if the adoption goes through!), and get to meet YOUR wonderful family!
Well, dear heart, I have to run; I have to get Sari and then we have to go to the airport, so she can go back to Finland! (We have to be at the airport two hours early; her plane leaves at four, but we have to get through security and go through all that rigamarole...You know how fun that is...NOT! Hopefully I won't set off the alarm system like I did last time, seems my cane set it off....)
