Louisiana writes her friend in California, Kendra Mae, a letter after Kendra has emailed her. Bill has taken the kids to OpryMills for a day of shopping, and she is enjoying the peace and quiet (and the company of her little Pomeranian, "Cajun Gold", who is sitting in her lap as she types).

Thank you for your note, which I discovered in my email account while checking my mail; it is good to hear from you again!
I am sorry that Louisa isn't feeling too well. Tell her that I will be keeping her in prayer, and that we will add her name to our ever-growing prayer chain at my church! We will most definitely pray for her tomorrow morning before morning service! Tell her not to give up; and tell her to write me if she is feeling stressed out! I will listen, and I can offer her advice and companionship!
How long have you known the Masons? I have known you maybe about a year; but it has been fun, hasn't it (especially when we FINALLY got to meet each other face to face at the AASK picnic last month!)? But it feels like I have known you forever: you are so easy to talk to, and even though you ARE in a wheelchair, you don't let your problems get to you, and I love your spunky nature! I can learn a lot from you....LOL
I sure would love a video tape of the Masons in action; I would love to see what they look like! I will make one of our family for her (and you), if that is okay with you (and Louisa)! Let me know if you want a tape of our family! That way, we can show you our house, and we can show you pictures of Hanh Ly and Linn Chan when they stayed with us! They are such sweet girls, and I miss them already! I should expect to hear from Phoebe sometime tomorrow; hopefully they will have a safe trip back to their Fort Worth, Texas, home!
I am glad you are considering in getting Anna Grace tested for her intelligence. It helped us when we started seeing signs that Ronee' wasn't like a typical child: at age six months she was babbling (but not making sense), and she said her first words ("Mama" and "Dada") at age eight months; and she was trying to walk by the age of nine months. She was pulling herself up and was "cruising" by 10 months; and she was walking before her first birthday. She was also looking at picture books prior to her accident, and there were other subtle "signs" that she was intellectually gifted. Which was why we had her tested; and it turned out that Ronee' WAS gifted. She has an I.Q. in the 190 range, and she soaks up information quicker than SpongeBob SquarePants soaks up water! LOL Ronee' is now in the "Kaleidoscope" Gifted/Talented Program at her school, and she is doing swimmingly! She makes straight A's, and she enjoys the challenges of learning! I do hope that the tests for Anna Grace go well, and I do hope that if she IS gifted, I hope she has the opportunity to grow and learn as Ronee' has done!
I am glad you are coming, even though it means that you will be staying at the Motel 6 up the street from us. We would let you stay with us, but our entire family will be home for Christmas, and I am sorry, but there will be "no room at the inn" for extra visitors that come by, wanting for a place to spend the night; so they will have to stay at the motel and come a few blocks to our house! There's nothing wrong with staying at a motel; Motel 6 is a nice little outfit, and we have stayed at Motel 6 several times during past travels!
Please keep little Jacinthe Mickayla Lewis in your prayers, and also her family. Jacinthe is a little girl, aged four, who has multiple health problems, and the stress has really been hard on her family. She has brain damage from a bout of meningitis that she had last year, and she also has physical problems that have severely curtailed her life. She is in a wheelchair, and she is virtually unable to do even the simplest things for herself (plus she is ventilator-dependent; she has a trache, and she has to breathe with the aid of a respirator attached to the trache tube). I just heard from her mother, and her mother seemed really depressed. (The Lewises attend my church; and besides Jacinthe, they also have three older daughters, Jordan, Julie, and Jolene, ages six, eight, and nine. The older girls are, I am happy to say, healthy, but the strain of caring for a child like Jacinthe clearly shows in all of their faces.)
Well, dear, I must run; my dog is on my lap, and she is wriggling like she has to go outside and use the bathroom (plus she is whining plaintively, as if to say, "Mama, I have to go...NOW!"). So before there is a mess on my lap (EWWW), I have to let "Cajun Gold" out, and I will write more later. Thanks again for writing, and take care!
