Dear Jenna:
Thank you for the (((HUGS))) first of all, and thank you for your sweet letter; it really cheered me up! It is nice to hear from you; glad you and Michael are doing well!
I am doing a BIT better; but I am still sick. Still am hurting pretty strong, but at least I don't have the "urpsies" any more (thank GOD!)! I just feel like someone's been using my body as a punching bag, but than that is how I ALWAYS feel whenever I have a flare! At least I only had to go to the ER and not get admitted TO the hospital like last time! Being in the hospital is the absolute PITS, as you very well know!
I was an early bird this morning: I woke up at 3:30 this morning, and I needed to pee, so I had to have my sister Barbara help me. I couldn't fall back to sleep after I peed, so I got up and turned on the telly, and there was a program about the sun on the Science Channel. It was talking about the sun and some of the phenonema that can happen (like auroras, for example; they showed some really pretty displays of the Lights, and I was wishing I was in Alaska again! LOL), and it was very interesting. Maman was up (she had to go to work at 6 this morning, like she usually does; and she works tonight, until 11; she is doing a double because the nurse who USUALLY works at night, Genevieve Voisin, is off because her husband is in the hospital at Vandy--Vanderbilt--, and she wanted to be with him; so this is why maman is pulling doubles), and she was surprised to see me up. She asked me if I felt any better, and I said somewhat; and she asked me if I wanted to go to school today, if I was up to it, and I told her I wasn't. So this is why I am home and not at school today. Hopefully, I will be back to class tomorrow! (I HATE missing school!)
After I watched the Science Channel, I started getting sleepy again, so after I ate a bit of breakfast (so I could take my morning meds), I went back to bed, put on my oxygen, and slept until about an hour and a half ago. When I woke up, I found the house empty, with my parents gone, and my brothers and sisters at school; but my neighbor, Mrs. Johnson, was over, keeping an eye on me. She always watches us kids if one of us is sick and our parents are at work. She's really nice. She has two kids, a boy, Opri, who is 14, and a girl, Jacquie, who is 11 1/2. She is divorced, and she's had to raise her kids by herself since they were really little. And get this: Opri is disabled, too, like me, but he doesn't have JRA. He was born with kidney problems, and he had to have his first kidney transplant when he was five. He had another one done three years ago, when he was 11, and he is now doing quite well. He is short for his age and he can't play contact-type sports, but other than that, he is okay, and he can do just about anything he wants! He was the first boy I remember having a crush on, and he and I still remain good friends today! LOL
Mrs. Johnson made me some tomato soup, and she also got me a drink of Seven Up, and she also gave me my breathing treatments after I got done eating my lunch, and right now, she is sitting here, in my room, watching me type this on my computer. She says that I type really fast on my computer, and she says that I sure do know my stuff when it comes to computers! She says she is "computerally-challenged", but I told her that maybe one day, when she has time to herself, I will give her free lessons about the computer and the Internet. I will be her teacher, and I am very good at teaching other people how to use the computer. The computer isn't really as hard as many people make it out to be! If I can do it, and if my brothers and sisters can do it, then so can ANYONE!
I hope things are well at your end; and I hope you are back in Alaska. I know you must have missed seeing your mama and your sister, Jerrica, and her family, and I know that they must have missed you too! Thank you again for having maman, daddy, Barbara, Johnny, and myself down for your wedding; we really had fun, and it was great seeing you and Michael again; and it was great to see Jerrica and her family again (and getting to meet Michael's family)!
Well, Jenna, this isn't much of a letter, but I just got tired all of a sudden, and I am ready to fall asleep again. Durn old medicine's kicking me in the tail again! I will write you later or sometime later this week. Until then, this is Ronee' saying goodbye for now. Thank you again for writing; it is always good to hear from you or Michael! Give Michael a (((HUG))) and (((KISS))) from me, and I am sending you love from the hills of Tennessee, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux style! 'Til later, Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler, and AAAIIIEEE! :D
~As always, your (still sickie) friend, Ronee' Le-Anne (but is on the mend!). :)
No, the picture of the girl is not me. She looks kind of like me, but her hair and skin aren't as dark as mine, and besides, she isn't on oxygen! :)
