Dear Erin:
I loved that picture of the cheetah you put on your letter; I love cheetahs too! The cheetah reminds me of my friend's cheetah that he had (but she has since died; her name was "Sayidana", and I still miss her. She died last year from a massive kidney infection). She was really friendly, and she loved me and my family!
Thank you for writing; it is good to hear from you again! Glad you and Paddy are doing well; hope the children are too! My kids are all well, but last week, my daughter, Ronee', was sick; she had a "flare". She has JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis), and once in a while (a couple of times per year), when it acts up, it can cause her to feel very sick. Besides the joint pains, she also gets an upset tummy, a rash on her face and chest, a high fever, chills, chest pains (due to inflammation of the lining around her heart or lungs), and problems with her eyes (double vision). The pain she has is often severe, and sometimes it is bad enough to put her into the hospital. But this time, she only had to go to the E.R. to get a shot, but afterwards, she got to come home, and she spent the week in bed. She is just about over it now, and she went back to school today. She feels so much better, thank goodness!
My son, Johnny, also had a seizure last week (the medication he is on stopped working; he needed something stronger), but he didn't have to go to the E.R. on account of his breathing. He did have to go to the doctor's, and it was he who gave him a prescription for something stronger; ever since starting the new medication, Johnny hasn't had any problems, but I am still watching him like a hawk because when he gets sick, he can get sick in a hurry, and when he gets sick, one knows it!
Other than Johnny's seizure and Ronee' 's recent flare up of her JRA, the kids have been doing wonderful; and last night, we went to church, where Johnny helped Pastor Bilkey (our senior pastor) with the sermon. As Pastor Bilkey preached, Johnny did sign, and he did a very good job; we were really proud of him! Plus Ronee' sang during the offering, and she did a great job, too!
Did you catch the new show on PAX, "America's Most Talented Kids"? We didn't (as we had to go to church), but daddy Armand taped it, so we will watch it later. My daughter, Ronee', auditioned for the show last month when they came to Nashville, but she didn't make it. She got too nervous during the audition, and it showed. She does fine when she sings at festivals or fairs, but when it comes to being on tv or trying out, she "freezes", and she doesn't make it. I wasn't disappointed in her; in fact, I was proud of her trying her best, but she was disappointed in herself. She was really hoping on making it to "America's Most Talented Kids"! I told her if they came back to Nashville to cast for a later show, she could try out again, but I don't know if she will or not. It's up to her; we won't force her. Still, I think she could make it there; she has a good singing voice, and she is good at playing several instruments; I don't see why she couldn't do it!
We watched the show last year when it was on NBC, and we really enjoyed it; it is good to see it make a comeback! We will be watching it regularly; it's just too bad it couldn't be on another night than Sunday, which is when we go to church! (Oh, well...at least, daddy can tape it for us, and we will just watch it on MONDAY instead of on SUNDAY! LOL)
How is the weather over there in Idaho? Here, it is rainy, but coolish, and the leaves are changing colors now. By next weekend or the weekend after, the trees should be at their peak color; we always enjoy fall time in Tennessee! The colors are nothing short of spectacular, and we enjoy the cool, crisp air! Hope the weather isn't too bad where you are at, Erin!
The kids are all doing well in school; thanks for asking! They really want to do their best, so they keep up with their assignments and studies! We are proud of our kids; they enjoy school!
Yes, we have been to the Grand Ole Opry, lots of times. We really enjoy the Opry, and I do hope that you can come and see it! It is worth your visit to Tennessee if you ever get that chance; I'll make sure you get tickets, in fact! (I have connections. LOL)
Yes, I FINALLY heard from Louisa Mason; she was doing well, but now I hear that she isn't. Kendra, my other friend in California (and a good friend to Louisa as well; they have known one another since they were just 18), tells me that Louisa is having problems with her muscular dystrophy acting up. She also has a daughter with the same kind of MD, so it's been hard on her, really hard. Be sure to keep her in your prayers; they could really use a miracle about now in their lives! Seems that I was the one having computer problems; she said that her computer was working fine, but I was the one having trouble when I tried to email her! YIKES!
Well, I will let you go; the phone is ringing (AGAIN; I think this must be Grand Central Station instead of the Sandusky residence! LOL); it seems that the phone never stops! I will write to you again; until later, take care, Erin, and God bless you all!
