I'm gonna lay down my troubles and rest
I'm gonna love myself
I'm gonna know that I'm not the only one
I'm gonna know that there are others that hurt much worst
and I'm gonna coast......I'm gonna coast

Steam rosed from the tub making misty shadows on the ceramic tiles, it looked like the springs....Terri bathroom tiles were multi-colored ceramic that looked excatly like the mountain springs she visited with friends in college....when she felt love like the way she was feeling now she would run her bath water hot and let the water drip from the shower head, she would put on her sounds of the ocean cd and turn it up loud covering her neighborhood sounds, no matter that it was 12:00 noon she sipped her white wine and endulge. Terri loved herself at these times. She was thirty-three and fit, thiry-three not much sagging, thirty couple of sit ups and she'd be at a twenty-seven thirty-six. Her children were all of age and through being her children full knowing of taking care of themself at home. cooking, cleaning you know all the essenitals. Well they wouldn't be home for some hours. She didn't have to rush and get dinner or things pre-pared but she did feel like "momma" today. No letter again today from daddy sometimes it is hard to believe that he is gone taken away so soon from us sitting, dying away in some jail cell. Doing life.

Anyway she felt good today....she didn't fuck unnessari-ly this week. One-day at a time she told herself even though she have never been to any kind of aaa she have seen enuf moovies, and heard enuf stories, and read enuf books to know about one day at a time.

Veins don't cry out anymore to be filled just her hole every now and again anh she doesn't need to drink or puff smoke to sleep or calm down or clear her mind.

Yes she loved herself today. Sweat exscaped her pores just the same as sighs exscaping her mind. The phone didn't ring bringing threats of ill-fated lovers wishing her dead. Claiming theft or blindly lead. No skeltons surfacing urghing her in there directions....cause shit is always going to be tight. No bad memories, true memories, or wonderings about the past, the future, or people she just couldn't get. Or places she just couldn't get.

Terri let the wine warm her insides like the music did her soul and the water did her body....and the lights from those dollar store candles just exploded with the sweet smell of jasemine, and Terri soaked her hair in honey and tea-tree oils and the combination of fragrance filled the room and painted the walls with South.

Terri closed her mind out from her reality, everyones reality and she drifted off into a dream that mirrored a beautiful Weeping Willow tree on the banks of a mighty river, that held all the homecomings of Autumn...

great sensual stuff - highly enjoyable read that reflects a lot of emotional suspense too often bulldozed by an active life. Franz

Well done, Mitzi. I especially enjoyed these wonderful phrases:

"...the combination of fragrance filled the room and painted the walls with South."

"she drifted off into a dream that mirrored a beautiful Weeping Willow tree on the banks of a mighty river, that held all the homecomings of Autumn..."

This sounds like the ultimate "Calgon take me away!" moment. Solitude and reflection are moments that we all need at times to stay grounded. Thanks for sharing this moment with us!
