The Sandusky family spends yet another fun-filled, exciting day at the fair.
Karla and I did this very thing ourselves; but we went to the TEXAS State Fair, not the Tennessee State Fair. We had a blast! :)

Hey! This is Summer Song Sandusky, and I am having a BLAST! Today was Columbus Day, so natch, the kids got off from school; and today we went to the Tennessee State Fair. Of course, our family has been at the fair since Friday, but that is besides the point...
Today we spent a good part of the day riding the rides on the midway, and this year there were rides that we had never seen, but rides that proved to be terrifying, just the same. Some of the rides we saw (and rode) included the TopSpin (a ride where there are seats side by side by one another, and you sit, and you have bars holding you in from both the lap and shoulders; the whole thing starts going in a circle, and as it does, the seats start tilting forwards; and pretty soon, you are upside down; and you lose all sense of direction; it is really scary!), the Booster (this long thing that has two cars on the top and bottom; and as the thing rotates in a circle, the cars flip, and you are doing the flippy thing; it is very disorienting!), the Storm (kind of like the Orbiter, but jack up the speed about ten knots, and you have one heck of a scary butt ride! It's like the Orbiter on steroids! LOL), and the Indiago (gut twisting ride; you don't go upside down, but it is still a gut twister, nevertheless, and if one isn't careful, they will lose more than their pocket change! LOL). Of course, besides these fun-filled thrill machines, you had your old standbys: the SkyDiver, the Scrambler, the Rotor, the Tilt A Whirl (or, as Ronee' calls it, the Tilt'A'HURL! LOL), the merry-go-round, the Hurricane, the Himalaya, the LoveBug, the Troika, the Trabant, and of course, you can't have a fair without the fun house!
I rode the Tilt A Whirl, the SkyDiver, the Scrambler, the Hurricane, the Himalaya and LoveBug (similar rides, but the LoveBug is a lot faster!), the Troika, the TopSpin, the Booster, the Indiago, the Storm, the Orbiter, the Dodge-Em cars, the Round Up, the Parachute ride, and more; I had more fun on the rides; but after a while I was so dizzy I couldn't see what was what, and I was so dizzy I looked like I had drunk about six dozen beers! I fell over a few times; but I got back up, and once I got my balance, I went back on the rides, wanting more! I sure made good use of the tickets I got; heck, after all, the midway is the BEST part of the fair!!
Some of my brothers and sisters rode the rides along with me, but some (like little Johnny and those with "weak constitutions") knew better than to get ON these extreme rides; it was painful enough for them just to WATCH the rides without them getting sick! (Johnny got greener than a dollar bill when he saw the TopSpin and the Booster, and he got sick; he puked on the ground beside his wheelchair, and he looked rather sick. I felt so sorry for him!) But others, like myself, Barbara, and Ronee', were loving the thrill rides; and you would think that Ronee', being a kid and all, would have been scared on rides like the Booster or the TopSpin, but nooooo...she was having a BLAST! She was laughing harder and louder than anyone, and she was not scared, not one bit! Of course, she walked like a drunken little spider after the fact, but once she got her equilibrium back, she was back in line, itching for more! LOL
My parents also knew better than to get onto rides like the TopSpin, the Booster, or the Storm; they both already have enough trouble walking withOUT riding the rides; so they passed; and they both told us kids that we were all flat out CRAAAAZY!! They were more content to look at the exhibit halls or eat fair food rather than risk their lives on the contraptions that we kids call "rides"! LOL
So went our day at the fair. It was really fun! And guess what. We get to do it all over again TOMORROW! WHEEE!! So here's to the TopSpin, the Storm, and all those other scream machines that we kids just can't seem to get enough of! I will be back on them tomorrow! :)
LOL at "tilt a hurl" and johnny getting greener than a dollar bill...i knoooooooooooow how he feels, after watching the "top spin" YIPE. my stomach did enough flips just watching that sucker! LOL
