I have been at the Tennessee State Fair since Friday, early, and I have really been taking advantage of riding the rides or catching some of the exhibit halls and stuff! I think fairs and kids were meant for one another!
Now, I didn't go on some of the wilder rides (due to my being an amputee; see, I walk on crutches, and I didn't want to get so dizzy after getting off one of those rides to where I couldn't walk without falling down!), but I did ride some of the rides (the Tilt A Whirl, the Scrambler, the Indiago--that was awesome; I think that was my favorite one I went on!--, the Dodge-Em Cars, the LoveBug, the Himalaya, the regular ferris wheel, the Troika, the Paratrooper, the WaveSwinger, and the SkyCoaster, which was a bungee type ride; but boy; wowee, it scared me to pieces! I thought for a while I was gonna' run into the post; but we didn't; but we could see allllllll over the fairgrounds!). I also ate a lot of junk food (hey, I am a growing boy; I need my fuel! LOL), and we saw some of the exhibit halls. My favorite exhibit was the Auto show; saw some really neat cars, including the new HUMMERS, and I got to sit in one of those babies; and I was really lookin' cool, man! I felt like I was stylin', and I think I look great in one of those HUMMERS! I was pretending to drive the HUMMER, and I was acting stupid by making car noises; and I was pretending I was racing the HUMMER until my mama told me to get out of there and stop acting silly. She kinda' got annoyed at me for that one! LOL
You have probably read some of my family's fair entries in our fair journal; now is my turn. I wanted to let you know how I was "faring" at the fair (get it?? LOL), and I wanted to let you know that I am glad that I am with my family; otherwise, I would be at school, stuck inside a hot, stuffy classroom listening to the teacher drone on and on and on...We had fair passes; this was one reason why we got out of going to school while most of my friends didn't get to the fair until after school or during the weekend. We will be here during the whole 2 1/2 week-long run of the fair, and we are having so much fun!
The weather has been okay for the most part, but we had some showers over the weekend which kinda' put a damper into our plans; but then it cleared, and today is absolutely stunning! Bright, wall to wall sunshine, pleasant temps, and absolutely no clouds to be found in the sky! Really awesome weather!
If I do have one complaint this year, I think I may end up getting a wheelchair before too long; but at $15 a pop for one wheelchair, I think it is better that I walk all over! Still, my arms ARE tired and sore from using my crutches....OW!
