Ronee' 's second entry into the family's fair journal.
Hey, guys! How are y'all doin'?
Me, I am doing just fine...having a ball here at the Tennessee State Fair, where we have been for the past four days, since Friday. ('Tis now Tuesday, the day after Columbus Day.)
Now, normally, I'd be at school now, but we have passes for the fair, and maman and daddy got some time off from work, so this is why we are at the fair and why we kids aren't in school. Still, I am enjoying it; it's like summertime has been extended, and it's like reliving the fun we had during the summer all over again!
I have been riding my butt off on the rides: I have ridden rides like the TopSpin (that is one kick-butt ride! WHOOOHOOOO!), the Booster (another thriller guaranteed to scare the poop outta' a person!), the SkyDiver, the Zipper, the Magnum (like the Scrambler, but this thing has cars that can flip, and you lose all sense of direction--or, if you aren't careful--, your stomach! LOL), the Storm (another kick-butt ride; this is like the Orbiter, but ten times faster, and it realllly messes with ya! LOL I am always so dizzy after riding the storm; heck, I feel like I done been IN a storm! LOL), the Indiago (it doesn't flip, but you do an awful lot of leaning, and it can get scary at times, especially if you aren't prepared to do a lot of extra swinging from side to side as the whole thing goes in a huge circle; you go way high in the air, and it really can mess ya up!), and of course, I rode rides like the Scrambler, the Tilt A Whirl (I call it the Tilt A HURL, 'cause that is what my little brother, Johnny, did on it one year; good description of the ride itself! LOL), the Dodge'Em cars, and the Orbiter. Now, the Orbiter can mess with your mind and tummy too, but it is a lot tamer than some of the ones I went on, like the Indiago, the TopSpin, the Booster, and the Storm!
I have also sang a few times at the fair already, but I have had a few days off until I sing on Wednesday (tomorrow), when I open for Loretta Lynn; and I also have been looking at the exhibits. My favorites were the cars (I got to sit in a HUMMER; I looked so cool, but I had a lot of trouble trying to get in and out! LOL), the health fair, the jewelry and earrings, the dolls and crafts, and the animals. I loved it all; but the demonstration shows for different products and sewing were boring. It was like watching a paid tv commercial live, and I am sorry, but I can't stand paid tv commercials! ICK!
The only bad thing about the fair is by the end of the day I am so tired it is all I can do to keep my eyes open, and it isn't unusual for me to be sleeping before nine! But Wednesday will be different because of my opening up for Loretta Lynn; and if I want to be awake for the show tomorrow I had better get to bed tonight before eight! But it is going to be hard sleeping with all the fair noises and hearing the people on the rides 'cause I wish I could be right out there right in the middle of it all! So I am gonna' hit the hay early-early tonight! This may be the last time you hear from me before next weekend sometime, when the fair closes on Sunday! So until then, C-ya!
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
