Dear Michael and Jenna:
You don't know how happy I was to get your letter; that was really a cool animated picture of the Northern Lights you put on it! How did you DO that, and where on earth did you find such a picture? That was sooo neat; that picture ROCKED!!
I am (sort of) well; I am over my flare; and I am home, recuperating from the fair. We would have stayed the entire time, but we got tired of the fair, and I had an asthma attack, so I stayed home from school. Something in the air got to me, and I had to go to the Emergency Room last night. This happened right after church. They had to do a blood gas on me and the whole thing; and my arm right now is so sore and bruised! OW! I HATE those stupid blood gases! I wish there could be a better way to check the oxygen levels in your blood than having to stick you like that! OWIE! Then, if that weren't bad enough, I find out that Hunter Hayes, one of my favorites in Cajun music (he's a 13-year-old accordionist and singer; he is absolutely terrific!), was on "America's Most Talented Kids", and I didn't get to watch it because I was at church! I was sooo mad when I found that out! Other than that, my life is good!
I sang with Loretta Lynn on Wednesday night at the fair, and I was nervous (but then I am ALWAYS nervous when I open up for a legend like HER!); but I didn't screw up (at least, I am HOPING I didn't!)! She did a great job of singing herself, and I always enjoy her; she is so nice and friendly! I had my picture taken with her prior to the show; I am standing backstage, holding my Cajun accordion, just grinnin' my fool head off. I was wearing one of my stage outfits that my grandmere' Moliere' made: a white pantsuit combination that has red crawfish on it, and the crawfish have rhinestones surrounding them. I also had on a red cowboy hat and boots (those matched the crawfish). I also had on a red belt with a Louisiana belt buckle on it. I looked pretty, maman said. If you want, I will send you a copy of the picture as soon as manan or daddy get them developed. We also took pictures when we saw Toby Keith, Tanya Tucker, and Alan Jackson in concert; and I also took pictures when I saw Tiffany Evans sing. She did a terrific job, too, as did everyone else.
I did ride all of the rides at the fair, and I think I am sick of fair food; just the thought of it is enough to make my tummy jump! UCH! I am all "faired" out! I am sooo glad to be home from the fair! The fair is going on for another week, but I won't go unless I am in the mood; I have had enough of the fair for now! I just want to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet for a change!
Maman is home with me; she is keeping an eye on me. I started a new asthma medication (it also turns out that the Alupent I have been on for my asthma has finally stopped working; and whatever it was in the air that got my asthma going really didn't help), and it is stronger than the Alupent. I need something stronger to lick my asthma! I HATE having asthma; not being able to breathe is the absolute WORST! It feels like I am dying at times, and I don't know if I am going to get in my next breath or pass out--or even stop breathing; and then I wake up in the back of an ambulance or in the hospital E.R.! GRRRR!!! I also hate wearing oxygen at night; but hopefully, by the time I am older (like when I am a teenager), I won't need it anymore! I hate those oxygen headaches, and I hate those stupid prongs; they make my nose itch! GRRR! So far, I haven't had any problems with my new medication, but you never know; I've been known to pull some unexpected surprises with my breathing before....GRRR!!!
It is supposed to rain later; we may have a chance of severe weather. I hope not; I hate storms, especially since we already had damage back in June from a storm; and we had to stay at a homeless shelter for a while until our house was repaired. It was the pits being at the homeless shelter! Pray we don't get any damage if we have severe storms! We have had a lot of storms lately; I wonder if God is mad at us about something...I know it is supposed to rain because my arthritis is talking, and I wish she would just shut up! I am sick of her yammerin' on! She is worse than the Energizer Bunny! GRRR!! I am glad the weather is okay up there; I really miss the Alaska scenery and the Lights! (Of COURSE I would love pictures of the Lights!) I will send you some of my school pictures as soon as they are available; we should be getting them sometime in the next few weeks. I hope you don't throw darts at my picture; I may have to hurt you if you do that....NOT really, but I WILL be plenty sore at you! That's not nice to tease me like that! GRRRR!!!
Well, the medicine has decided to kick in; I am getting very sleepy all of a sudden, and I am getting a little fizzy-headed; it feels like there is a can of Coke inside my skull, and I can barely keep my eyes open, let alone, keep from yawning my head off! There I go again, yawning...ARGGGHHH!! I guess I will go to sleep and rest for a while; but I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your letter, and I thank you for writing to me. It is always nice to hear from you! Say hi to Jenna, and give her a (((HUGE HUG))) from me, okay?? Thanks! And give your "Aurora" a kissie on her little doggie nose from me, too! Love and miss you both!
(((HUGS))) As always, your (sleepy and sick) friend in Tennessee, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. :)
