Our favorite Maasai mama drops in and lets us know what is up with her life.
Greetings, or as I say in my language, Sopai! That is Hello in Maasai language. Habari gani? M'zuri sana, asante sana...
Oh, dear, there I go again...I am thinking of my brothers back in Kenya, Africa, again; I must stop doing that! LOL
As you can guess, this is M'Buti Ayala Sormiento writing again. I am here with the two littlest children, and they are now napping. They have only been asleep for a few minutes; but they were tired; they feel right to sleep, and they haven't moved much since I put them down for their naps. The little cheetah cub we have is sleeping with them, and she is laying between Eshe' and Kibarake, looking so adorable! She is snoring softly, and she looks so happy! To see the children and the cheetah cub together, sleeping peacefully, does make me smile! I am off work today because my fibro was acting up; I couldn't hardly move this morning when I went to get out of bed, so my husband called my work and told them I was taking the day off. So I am now at home, taking it easy.
Jubaki is at school, and Roberto got off work at 7 this morning. He works all night at the hospital, and he is now taking a nap too. I am the only one in my family who is awake, and I felt like writing; so here I am.
We named our cheetah cub "Thika", after the town in which I and my brothers, Keserian and Naiser, were born. She is a few months old, and she is a very active little cat. Always into everything and ever so curious! Her busy little nose is never still, and she is always walking around, exploring every inch of the house, trying to get used to her surroundings; and she is still rather skittish: if anyone or something moves suddenly close to her, she will hiss and spit, and she will look ferocious. She has the personality of our one cheetah we USED to have, "Sambeke", who was known for being rather cantankerous. She isn't as friendly or open as was "Sayidana", our female cheetah that died; she is more like "Sambeke" in temperament.
I am trying to do two things at once: type on this computer and listen for the kids, in case they stir or wake up; but so far, all is well and quiet. I am rather enjoying the peace, and I hope the phone doesn't ring, or else there'll be two screaming, unhappy babies who will need calming down, and the cheetah would probably be going off, too, hissing and spitting like a mad snake! LOL I did take a bath earlier, to try to soothe my achy body; it's helped some, but not nearly enough to where I can't do much without hurting later. So I am taking it easy and trying to be careful.
I haven't been to the State Fair yet, but maybe this weekend we will go. We went a few times last year, but we didn't stay long because of my not feeling well; maybe this year will be better, and we can stay longer at the fair. I will probably write from the fair and let you know what is going on, as Louisiana and her family have done. I have peeked at her fair journals, and it looks like they had fun at the fair. I kinda' hope we go to the fair; I would like to get out of the house besides going to work or my therapies or my doctor's appointments! I can use some fun and excitement in my otherwise boring life!
Whoops! Eshe' is starting to cry; so I will try to comfort her and lull her back to sleep; it isn't time for her to get up from her nap just yet. I will write more later; until then, this is M'Buti saying Kwaheri!
P.S.: The picture is one I drew of "Thika". Isn't she cute? I copied it from a picture we had taken of her when she was awake. She was just sitting there, staring at us.
