What is "Free Speech"?
To be free is to be constrained by our own personal wishes, and not imposing them--because of political license--on others who do not share our individual views. To have speech is to be able to communicate and also demands the respect to be heard by those who may not agree with us, regardless of their culture, their position or factors involving economic control.
But unless we investigate the limitations of what it means to "be free" we risk placing ourselves in a most gullible position. It can mean we can be taken advantage of with a smile, a handshake, a promise, all under the guise of what is good for us, the nation, the family.
Speech itself can be toyed with. FOX news network is a prime example with their "you''re always wrong, I''m always right" extremist conservative mentality.
One thing I learned in Sunday School was this: One may be right, one may be wrong, and both may be wrong. But both parties can never be right if the signs all point in the wrong direction.
Together, Free Speech is something that cannot be constrained when it fights to show itself as worthy of the attention of any majority. Free Speech demands trust in the right things to do, not necessarily what we in our own filtered world believes is the right thing to do. Free speech will always cost something, and all too often, our individual liberties will pick up the billions.
Although a bitter fact, we will always be slaves to something or some because of our station in life, or our station in thought.
It is unfortunate that world events of the past and present show us that, regardless of democracy or monarchy, freedom does not necessarily mean that we have the freedom to choose for ourselves. If any civilization of people are to remain free, then it should self-defined by choice, and never by force. Those who pursue free speech can never let the wagging tongues of antagonists speak on the behalf of those whom the antagonists refuse to hear, particularly the offensive antagonists who have no interest in learning how to communicate balance and fairness to the masses.
The day is coming when all loyalists of a puppet mastered tongue- tied population will realize that the human right to speak out loud--with balanced compassion for all of humankind--is the greatest treasure. The right to speak out is the final trump card in the deck for a planet with a history steeped in innocent blood and financial favoritism.
Until we understand the nature of the double meaning of speech, and how it can be crafted against us for selfish desires, then we as a world will remain paralyzed from the brain down, unequipped to dethrone the ideas of any self-proclaimed political and social invaders of free speech who pretend to represent the free world. Once free people learn to decipher the hidden codes of image and illusion, then Freedom will be free to be itself as God intends, and not as politics pretends.

Ask a minister this question: "If freedom from sin is being a slave to Jesus Christ, does that mean that God demands anything we don't believe is right for ourselves?"
