Johnny writes in his journal. He has been busy; that is why we haven't heard from him in a little while.

Dear Journal:
This is Johnny. I am sorry if I haven't written in a little while (okay, almost a week now!), but I have been busy (plus my muscular dystrophy has been acting up; seems I am more tired nowadays, and there have been some days where I am as weak as a kitten, and I need a lot of extra help).
I have been doing (fairly) well; other than my durn muscles acting up, I have been feeling pretty good, and I haven't had any seizures in a while. This new medicine I am on seems to be doing the trick; hope it lasts! I really hate having seizures...
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving, which is on the 25th this year, and I am also looking forward to Monday, the 15th of November. That is Veteran's Day, and we are going to go out eat at the Golden Corral, where grandpy will get a free meal, as he is a veteran. He fought in the war, and he served our country. So the Golden Corral guys are having a special thingie for the veterans by giving them a free dinner, in honor of their service, and also for Veteran's Day. YUMMM; I LOVE going to the Golden Corral...I always make such a PIG of myself! It's a wonder I am not as big as Pumbaa, the way I eat there! LOL I am looking forward to Thanksgiving because we are having our sisters Tanya and Dwerlina come from college (Tanya goes to Texas A & M in Texas, and Dwerlina goes to Louisiana State University-Lafayette in Louisiana), and our sisters Dianna and Melizza (they live here in town, they live close to us) are coming, too, as is Lightning, my oldest sister, who is coming from Colorado, along with her family. She has five kids, all under the age of seven--and two of them, both boys, are TWINS! (They were born on July 4, 2004; they are 4 1/2 months old now. I can't wait to get to see them! I bet they are cute!) We also have company coming from ALASKA (our friends Jenna and her husband, Michael; their last name is Doucet! We have also found out that Sikik Eegeesiak, our OTHER Alaskan friend--she lives in Barrow, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay up in the Arctic, in the northernmost point of Alaska!--is coming, too!), Texas (mama's good friend, Phoebe Pearson, and HER family; they live in Fort Worth!), AND California (mama's friend, Kendra Williams, and her daughters, who all live in Soulsbysville, which I guess is near Jamestown or somewhere along that area). So we will have a HOUSEFULL and a HALF! (By the way, we are going OUT to eat this year: we are going to--yep, you guessed it!--the Golden Corral; they will be open Thanksgiving Day. They will also be open Christmas Day, but Steffi, who works there, has requested that day off. She's worked the past two Christmases, and she wants to have Christmas OFF! I really can't blame her...I bet it's a PAIN to work on Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, and also working, mama has to work Christmas this year while she gets Thanksgiving off. Last year, she worked on Thanksgiving, but had Christmas off. It goes in cycles. Every other year, she works on Christmas, while the next year, she has it off. Same goes with Thanksgiving.)
School is going well for me. Haven't had too many problems, at least the kids don't tease me any more, like they did at my old school. That was such a PAIN! Just because I am physically disabled doesn't mean people have to tease me; that's not very nice! I am very happy at MorningSide, and I love my classes, and I have tons of friends! It's just too bad Jose' doesn't go to my school, but at least I get to see him after school or on the weekends when we don't have anything planned...
The leaves have fallen off the trees; the trees are now threadbare, and the weather is steadily getting colder and colder, as we inch towards December and the start of winter. I don't mind the cold, really; I have always liked cold weather. I love playing in the snow and going skiing on my sitski and feeling the wind rush against my face! I also love doing snow angels, and building snow forts and having mock battles with my friends and my sisters and brothers! We can really get into some big time snow fights! I also love the crisp fall nights, and looking at all the stars at night; if I am lucky, I may see a meteor or two (or maybe even the Northern Lights)! I also love drinking hot cocoa in front of a roaring fireplace, and I love the comfort of being with my own family!
The Ronster is doing well; she is getting ready to sing at her school's Thanksgiving Program, and she also has some big doin's in December, what with the Christmas Cantata at our church, and also the Christmas Program at her school. She hasn't had too many problems other than a few flares, but thankfully, she is over those, and she is back to her annoying self again! LOL My other family members are doing well, but daddy is dreading the day after Thanksgiving, which is when the Christmas Season officially gets underway, and Wal*Mart (ALL stores, really!) will be packed with shoppers, all hoping to get a huge jump on their Christmas shopping. I like going that day because I get to see Santa again, and I get to tell him what I want for Christmas (hopefully, I will get another HUMMER...LOL), and I get to shop for my family, and act all secretive and mysterious! I also love the holidays because it means Christimas, and THEN...MY BIRTHDAY! I will be 12 years old, which is a big deal because I wasn't expected to live beyond the age of FIVE!!
I will write again soon; I have to get ready to get to the bus; if I don't stop writing, I will miss the bus, and mama or daddy may get mad because I missed my ride home! So until then, this is Johnny, saying "Pip! Pip! Cheerio!"

P.S.: I forgot to tell you about the Fall Festival our church had. We dressed up, and we had hayrides, played games, had Bible trivia contests (I got third in the kid's division under 12), drank cider and ate roast pork with fried potatoes, salad, and veggies, and had pumpkin pie for dessert. I was a bottle of mustard, and my friend, Jose', was a bottle of ketchup; we got second place. A girl dressed up as Pocahontas won first; she really looked pretty. I was figuring that Ronee' would win (she was dressed up as Loretta Lynn), but she got fourth, after a kid who was dressed up as a hippie. There was also live gospel and Christian country music, and we all had fun! Even Pastor Bilkey dressed up; he was dressed up as Jed Clampett from "The Beverly Hillbillies", and he was funny! I couldn't help but laugh whenever I saw him in his beat up overalls, and black hat sitting atop his head, and a fake corncob pipe sticking out of his mouth!
Great write, glad to here that Johnny is doing, well but I have a FEELING changes coming for Ronee and Johnny and the rest of the crew ;)

Now that's a table I can get into. In our small town a man does Thanksgiving for the people who would not otherwise get a meal. Of course the firemen and rescue personel help but are fed as well. An excellant write Karen and by the way. I had a hysterectomy too at 49 and they still send me the same type emails.
