Hai! Miitos kuulu? Kiitos hyvaas!
As you can surmise from the greetings, you have probably figured out that this is your friend in Finland, Sari Annike Gustaffssenn! Thank you so much for writing; it is so good to hear from you again! It's been a while since I last heard from you~
I am happy to know that you are all doing well. I am happy that Johnny and Ronee' are over their flus; please tell them that I hope they don't get sick again for a very long time! I am also happy to know that you are going to be off on Thanksgiving and are expecting lots of company! I hope you have fun with all your guests; sounds like a wild, fun time! I am well; Mother is well, too, and so are my brothers. Thank you for thinking of them; I shall pass on your greetings from America to them; maybe they will write to you. Would you like to hear from any of my family members besides me?? Let me know; thanks!
The weather IS cool here (okay, COLD!). Highs in the 30's, lows in the teens at night. Lately it has been snowy; it is starting to look like Christmas here. It shan't be long before we start putting out our trees or our lights or other decorations. I have always loved Christmas; it is my favorite time of year! But it is going to be so sad without Father here; I still miss him so much! (SOB!) How is the weather there in Tennessee? Heard you have seen auroras that way; I bet you have been enjoying them! It's been too cloudy here for us to see any auroras!
I am happy to know that you talked with Athena and that she will soon be out of hospital soon! Wonderful news! Nikolas has been busy getting ready to come here; he is coming for Thanksgiving and will be staying the winter until we go back to live in Athens in the spring, where we will then be married. (You ARE still planning on coming to Greece for our wedding now, aren't you?? I hope so; we would really love to have you!) I will tell Nikolas that you all say hi, and I will have him write to you as soon as he gets here from Greece! They have had some heavy rains as of late, and his house got flooded; he is just now getting the last of his house repaired; and I hope that he doesn't get flooded out again! When I heard of the floods in Greece, I was so worried! I was afraid that my Nikky would drown! I don't know WHAT I would do lest anything were to happen to him; I love him so much!
We lost some of our reindeer: wolves somehow got into our yard, and we have since had to put up an electric fence to keep out the wolves or wild dogs that have been attacking our reindeer. I guess they know that we are in for a long, rough, hard winter, so they will be doing all they can to get food. Interesting times for us Gustaffssenns!
My cousin, Kira, had her baby last night: she had a little girl that they are going to name Anna Elszbeth. She was named after me. Kira has always claimed me as her favorite cousin. I am so honoured that she would name her baby after me! Little Anna Elszbeth Rekkonen (no relation to my friend Ilsa, by the way; they only share the same last name, but they are NOT related!) joins her mama (Kira), papa (Peiter), and big sisters Aricka and Asa-Karin, who are six and two. I am so happy for them! She was born at 10 p.m. our time, and I am told that both mother and baby are well! So happy to hear that! As soon as I get some pictures of the baby and of Kira, I will be sure to send you some on the computer. I bet you would like to see them! I can't WAIT to see what little Anna will look like! If I know her mother, she is going to be very beautiful!
Oh, dear...I see a dead wolf in our yard; he must have tried to get at our reindeer again and electocuted himself. I will have to get rid of it; the sight of his dead body sickens me to the core! Ach, what a creepy looking thing he is; I must get it out of here before I get sick! I will write more later; thank you again for writing! It was good to hear from you again!
