Saturday, the 13th of November, 2004 (12 days until Thanksgiving!)~
Dear Jenna and Michael~
Hi! This is your friend, Ronee' Le-Anne! I am sorry for not writing sooner, but I have been busy, unbelievably busy! You can't imagine HOW busy I have been lately! Plus I have had a few rounds of my JRA flaring up, and there were days where I felt pukey, but I am glad to say that I am FINALLY over that crud! I hope this finds you both well; I am really looking forward to seeing you both on Thanksgiving! This should be fun!!
Did you see the Northern Lights there? We did here; we had some amazing displays here, and we saw them not once or twice, but three times this week! We were so excited, and I was thinking of you when I was looking at the Northern Lights! You see them all the time during "aurora season"; but me, I am lucky if I see them AT all! But I bet you did that; thank you for sending the Northern Lights our way; we really enjoyed looking at them! They were cool!
I am practicing for my Thanksgiving performances at the nursing home, and also at school; I have some solos to sing, and I also am starting to practice for the upcoming Christmas season, for the cantata, our school Christmas program, and the like. I love those Christmas songs, and I have always loved Christmas! I used to hate having my birthday on Christmas, but now I see it as a blessing, and I am glad that I was born on such a special day. People don't forget my birthday as much as I used to think they did, and somehow, they always manage to make my Christmas/birthday special and memorable. This birthday, I will be 12 years old. I am getting to be a teenager; and the very thought of it absolutely terrifies me! I am NOT ready to be a teenager; I am NOT ready to stop being a little kid! I wish I could turn back the hands of time so I could be little again and not worry about things the way I do now!!
I have given my maman and daddy my Christmas list this year. I don't want much: all I really want are some art supplies, a new journal (or two; the ones I have now are just about used up!), socks, shoes, underwear (I can always use those!), new sweaters, and jeans, and also some of the "American Girls" books (preferably the ones about Kaya or Kirsten; I have Molly, Josephina, and Samantha. I also want Abby). I have been reading those lately, and I really enjoy them. I also want a subscription to "Girl's Life", which is a magazine for girls. (DUH!) I would also like paper for my art stuff, regular lined paper for my writing, and some more floppy discs for my computer. I have used up most of mine; most of my discs have stuff on them, and there's not much usage left on them. On the discs I have my notes and school assignments, and I like to listen to them once in a while, as a way to refresh my memory on what I have learned.
I saw a great movie the other day: We went and saw "The Polar Express" with Tom Hanks, and it was really cool. It was based on the children's book of the same name by Christopher Van Allsburg, and I have always loved that book, ever since I was small (still DO love it now!), and the animation on there was really spectacular! They showed the Northern Lights in the movie, and I got so excited I spilled my Coke in my lap. BRRR, was THAT ever COLD! YIKES! It looked like I pee'd my pants when we came out of the theatre because my jeans had a big wet spot right between the legs, and my little butt was cold too! BRR!! I got more strange looks from people that day; it was a bit on the embarrassing side...
School is going well; I am still making good grades, even with the recent absences I had lately with my flares. I got my report card, and I had two B's (in Math and in History), but I had A+'s in the rest of my classes, which made me happy! I hate to get poor grades in school! My teachers are really proud of me, and you know what? I am kinda' proud of me too! (She says, patting herself on the back...LOL)
I am glad you are well; I have been thinking of you all! I hope that you can have a kid; and I hope you have a boy. I bet you would name it after Johnny, or perhaps Michael, perhaps? You could call him Johnathon Michael or maybe Michael Johnathon! How 'bout it? What do you think??
Well, I will see you soon; I can't wait! Hope to hear from you beforehand; I really like getting mail from you guys up there in Northern Lights Land! I miss it, I really would love to come back to Alaska soon! (When you go back, can I sneak along in your suitcase??)
Have a good day, Jenna and Michael, and God bless! Love you both, and miss you both more than you will ever know!
((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Ronee' Le-Anne (future superstar in c/w and Cajun music??). :D
Karen this is an excellent write as always, keep it up, and I for one believe you are going places with your writing
God Bless
Michelle~
