Dear Rebekkah Rachel~
Hello! I read an article about you in our paper, and after reading your story, I felt compelled to write to you. I hope you don't mind; but when I first read your story, I couldn't help but be moved by your courage.
My name is Louisiana Sandusky, and I live in Tennessee, in Nashville. Where do you live, Rebekkah? Do you have any brothers or sisters, and do any of them have the same problems as you do? That has got to be so maddening: knowing that if you hurt yourself, you aren't aware of it, and knowing that you can be in danger at any time. I am glad you have such a good attitude about it; and I am glad that you are determined to make the best out of your life!
I am happy to know that you believe in Christ. I am not Jewish (I am Christian), but I have heard of the Messianic Jews. They believe in the same way as the Jewish people, but they also believe in Christ and in Salvation. That is good to know that you are saved! I am happy that you get to celebrate Christmas and Easter in addition to Hannukah, Rosh Hoshana, Passover, Purim, and the other Jewish holidays!
I am a mother to a large amount of children, all of them adopted. I did have three kids of my own, but all of them died; and while I miss them very much (I guess I always will), I still have the love of my adopted children, and they have since blessed the lives of my husband and myself tenfold! We have over 30 children, which IS a large amount (people always tell us that we are crazy!), but it has gotten to the point to where we can't imagine our lives without ANY of the children! We adopted children from all over the world: Africa, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, India, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Bosnia-Hergozovina, Malaysia, Italy, Iran, Russia, Mexico and Latin America, and even the United States of America and Canada. Most of our kids are disabled in one way or another: most you can see, but others have what they call "hidden disabilities", like epilepsy, diabetes, learning challenges, and the like. Still, even with all their problems, they are all still good kids, and they are all special to both Bill (he's my husband) and myself. The disabilities my kids runs the whole gamut: blind/visually impaired, hearing impaired, mentally disabled, physically or orthopedically disabled, and learning disabled. Some are in wheelchairs while other use braces or crutches in order to walk, while others have very little trouble. Some are much more affected with their disabilities than others, but they are all determined to overcome, and they are all wonderful kids with good minds and hearts.
If you live in California, I write to two women there, both in Soulsbysville. Their names are Kendra Williams (mother to soon to be 13 girls, all with disabilities) and Louisa Mason (she has several kids herself, and all are disabled too). Do you know them? I have met Kendra once, but I haven't met Louisa yet (hopefully I will get that chance someday!). Do you go to synagogue, and do you enjoy it? It sounds like you may. Good for you; it is fun learning about your faith, isn't it? I am a grown woman, and I am still learning about my faith even now! LOL
Well, sweetie, I will go now; I have to pick up some of my kids from their soccer game. They just called and said that their team won. So I guess it looks like we will have to stop for burgers or ice cream for the celebratory ride home! LOL I will write again; I hope to hear from you! I will tell you more about my family next time if you tell me about yours! And that is a promise!

Continues to be some very interesting stories about the different disabilities.
