Ronee' writes her newest penpal a letter after she heard from her yesterday.

Dear Rebekkah Rachel~
Hey there! Thanks for writing; it was so good to hear from you! I am happy that you are allowed to write to me. Maman says I can write to anyone as long as it is within reason; she worries a lot about me.
Pain insensitivity disorder doesn't sound so bad, but when you said that you have to be careful and that you have had to have surgery, well, then, again, it doesn't sound like something I would want to have. Having JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) is bad enough, but I have learned to manage my disease (for the MOST part!), and I have had to live with it for just about seven years now. I first started having probs with my joints when I was four; but I wasn't officially "diagnosed" until I was five. I have had surgery myself on several occasions, and as you know, surgery is no picnic. I last had surgery last year, on my knee. I had it replaced; and now I get along better than I have been able to for a very long time. Now my knees no longer hurt, just everything else does is all! LOL I have a really nice doctor, Dr. Hansen (she had JRA as a child, so she knows what I am going through!), and I also have my regular pediatric doctor, Dr. Emmons, and he is nice, too. And I like the anesthesiologist, Dr. Wright; he is really good with kids, and he tries to make surgery a more pleasant experience. Plus he knows exactly how we feel because he has spina bifida and he has had surgery himself; so he knows what it is like to "go under the knife". He walks on forearm crutches and leg braces too, just like I do, and I think that is too cool! Even his disability hasn't stopped him from achieving his dream to be a doctor, and I guess I am a lot like him because I won't let my disability stop ME. I want to be a country singer, as I told you yesterday, and I have sung with different stars in country music, including my favorite, Loretta Lynn! :) Loretta is so cool, and she is one of the nicest people in country music! :)
I love a lot of the shows you do; I guess we are more alike than we may realize, hunh? Maybe that is why I felt so comfortable when I wrote to you; we both have our problems, but we are determined to "make good" with them, and try to live out our lives as best as we can! You will have to send me a picture of yourself; I will be enclosing one of me in this letter (okay, several!); then you will see how I look! People tell me all the time I am pretty or beautiful, but there are days where I don't FEEL it, especially if I am flaring again or am sick! Then I look EVIL! LOL
I am sorry you are the only kid in your family. That has got to be so hard because when you get into trouble, there's nobody to blame it on. In MY case, I can blame somebody else! (NOT really, because I know I screwed up, and I DO get punished when I mess up! LOL) I have 49 brothers and sisters, and yes, we DO fight ON OCCASION, but most of the time we get along GREAT! I love my family very much, and I love to spend time with them! I have the coolest and best family in the world! I do hope we can meet in person one day; that would be AWESOME!!
I am glad you get so much out of your faith. I get so much out of mine; and especially since I became saved and accepted Christ into my heart, my life has been more meaningful and wonderful for me. I have been blessed beyond measure, and I look forward to each new day! There is no telling what life has in store for me, and even though I DO have my rotten or bad days, God sees me through it, and then I am glad it is over; and it just makes me a stronger person! I have a wonderful family, great friends, an exciting life full of promise and hope, and best of all, I know JESUS! :) I love my church, and I love going each and every week! I love my pastors, and I love my church friends! (It's just too bad Nicole doesn't go there; she and her family are Catholic, and they go to St. Joseph's Catholic, which was where I went to church before I started going to Christ Community Aseembly of God after I became saved.)
Well, I gotta' go; study hall is about over, and the teacher is looking at me. I guess she wants me to get going to my next class. Well, I better shut this off or I'll be late to my next class, and that wouldn't look good on my record. Thanks again for writing; it was so nice to hear from you!
