Hi! Thanks for your latest email; it was so good to hear from you again!
I loved the picture of the ballerinas; pretty! I have always loved to watch ballet on tv or on the stage; they look like graceful gazelles, and at times I often wished that I could dance right along with them! But of course, my JRA and my painful joints prevent it, so I just dance in my mind or in my heart, and I can always imagine myself just leaping right alongside them; and that always cheers me up! It would be hard to do on crutches or leg braces! LOL Oh, well...at least I can WALK most of the time; I should be grateful for THAT! (And I AM!)
I just got home from school; we are going out to eat about seven; we are going to the Golden Corral again. Tonight is "Family Night", and kids get to eat for only a buck and 99 cents. Not bad! That is, to say, kids 4 to 12, so I am right in that group; I can get a buffet for only $1.99, and it is "all-you-can-eat". I'll be porkin' out later...LOL
I had a good day at school. I just found out today in choir that I will be singing a solo during the Christmas program. I will probably sing "O Holy Night"; people seem to love the way I do that song. I have a real high soprano voice anyway when I sing, and so I have no problem hitting the highest notes; and it's helped my breathing (and my asthma) tremendously! I love to sing, and I get so much enjoyment out of it, especially when people smile or clap after I am done! That gives me such joy and satisfaction in knowing that I have made them happy; and I am so blessed that God has given me the ability to sing like I do! I also love playing my instruments, and I can get so much anger or frustration out just by performing because when I am on stage, it feels like I am FLYING with the angels, and I always feel so good!
I also get to sing "O Holy Night" (and possibly "Silent Night"!) during the Christmas Cantata at Christ Community Assembly of God, which is my church, and I am reallllly looking forward to that! We always get good-sized crowds for the Cantata, and people always get so much enjoyment out of it! (In the Cantata, I play a little girl who tries to share the meaning of Christmas with a world not ready to hear it, and somehow, through her actions, words, and her singing, she finally reaches them. It's something different from last year's Cantata, and it should be fun! It's just not about the girl; it's other things, really, about how the true meaning of Christmas has gotten shoved by the wayside, and yet, despite the materialism and commercialism, there is still a need to know the Truth about Christmas, and there are people who are still willing to believe in it and share it with others; and somehow lives are touched.) I will probably be getting my lines on Weds. at church, and I will have to start practicing and rehearsing once I get to know my lines; and then it should be easier. I am really looking forward to it!
I am so sorry you lost relatives during the Holocaust; that has got to be horrible! I couldn't read "The Diary of Anne Frank"; maman said it wasn't "appropriate" for kids my age, so she won't let me read it until I am at least 14 or so. She monitors on what we read or watch on tv, and there is so much junk out there it is absolutely UNREAL! It's so sad on how self-centered and materialistic the world has become; and it's so sad how we have managed to shove out Biblical truth and God out of our lives; it's no wonder our world has suffered at the hands of the devil! I am fearful for the world; yet, I must hang on to the Hope that Jesus will come back soon, and for that, I can be eternally grateful! I will get to go to Heaven when Jesus DOES come back (my whole family will!), and that I can be very grateful for! He has really done an awesome work in the lives of my family and in myself! I am so glad I know Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, and I am thrilled to know that you know Him, too! That is too cool! :D
I have known Sign Language for several years; it's because my brother Mario is profoundly deaf (he had meningitis as a little baby, and it damaged his hearing before he could learn to talk), and that is how he communicates. I also know it because of Johnny, who is hard-of-hearing, and I love learning new signs! I love Spanish, and I love learning about the "Spanish side of me!" Spanish is muy bien, and I love saying "Tien buen dia" to my friends! (That means "Have a nice day!" in Spanish!) I speak Spanish quite well, and my teacher says I am really a quick learner. She is very proud of me. (I am kinda' proud of me too! :) )
I will be sending you one of my "professional pictures" (I will even autograph it for you!); that way, you can see what I look like. I hope you will enjoy it. It was taken a few years ago, when I was nine; I look about the same now, but my hair is longer, and I am a bit taller. I also am starting to get a chest (I AM growing up, you know, turning into a teenager! GAD!). I hope you will enjoy the book when you get it; it's on the way! So be on the lookout for it!
I will write more later; I have to take my medicines; about that time. Darn old pills. ICK! I also have to have another breathing treatment and take my one inhaler (my one evening dose). It's the PITS having allergies and asthma; I am SOO glad it is getting better (but NOT fast enough for me says the flea! LOL)!! Until next time, Rebekkah, you take care, and God bless! I love this response too and keep up the good work. I once danced with the wheelchair vets at a New Year's celebration they did it and I was glad of that dance.
