Johnny decides to write a letter to Ronee' 's new friend, Rebekkah, in California; he is jealous of all the mail that Ronee' has been getting lately.
November 16, 2004 (Tuesday, evening)~
Dear Rebekkah~
My name is Johnny, and although you may not know me, you do know my sister. I am Ronee' 's brother, and I wanted to write to you; it seems that she has been spending a lot of time on the computer today, and I am sick of her hogging it. I want to have a turn at it, but it seems her fat butt is in the chair, and I can't get anything accomplished! She makes me SO MAD sometimes!~
To tell you about myself, I am adopted; was adopted when I was a baby, so the family I have now is the family I have really ever known. I was born in Germany, but came to America when I was but a few months old; and it wasn't long after that before I was adopted by the Sanduskys. I have a real-life older brother, Erich, who lives in New York City; he is 17, and he is cool. I wish I could see him more often than I do; I really miss him. He looks a lot like me, but his hair is darker, and he is of course, much taller. He is nearly 6' tall, and he is built like a basketball star: unbelievably tall and SKINNY! WOW!
I have blue eyes and blonde hair that is so light it looks white in the sunlight; and I wear thick glasses. I also wear hearing aids in both ears. I am visually and hearing impaired, and it is a pain at times, but I have learned to adapt to my handicaps; and I am also in a wheelchair most of the time. I wasn't born that way: I got muscular dystrophy (turns out my real mom had the MD gene in her; and she passed it on to me, darn old gene!) when I was a little kid, and by the time I was five, I was on crutches and was wearing braces on my legs. I wasn't expected to live past five, but I fooled the doctors, and I am STILL fooling them, ha ha!
I am in the sixth grade at school; I go to a school for kids with disabilities. I love my school; everyone is so nice, and they treat me good. I also love my teachers, and whenever I get stuck, they always help me. I used to be really rotten at school while the Brainiac (Ronee', or as I call her when I am mad, the RONSTER!) was always getting attention because of her smart brain; and I HATED her for that! But then I got help, and now I am doing cool in school, and now people are always saying how good I am doing. It's cool to be on the same level as the RONSTER for once! LOL
I usually use my wheelchair most of the time, but when I am having a good day, I use my crutches to get around; the only trouble is, I never know how I will be feeling the next day, and some days I am so weak I feel like a wet dishrag, or a kitten, and it is soo hard for me to do things! That is so annoying, and I hate having to ask for help all the time! That's when having muscular dystrophy really bites! But I still do good, and as long as I am able to, I will continue TO fight this stupid muscular dystrophy! I may be a kid in a wheelchair, but I am a LOT more than THAT, and I will NOT let my stupid disease get me down! I am too busy enjoying my life, for one thing!!
So you are Jewish. Cool. I don't know too many Jewish kids, but the ones I DO konw celebrate Hanukah or whatever it's called, and they don't really celebrate Christmas. They also go to sinagog, or however you spell it, instead of regular church, like I do. Do you speak Hebrew at all? The only Hebrew word I know is Jesu, and that means Jesus. I also know yamulke, the Jewish hat that the boys and men wear on special Jewish holidays; but that is it. You will have to tell me more about your Jewish faith; I love learning new things, and your faith sounds interesting!
Well, I will go for now; we are going to go out to eat about six, six thirty, so I must shut this off and get ready. We are going to the Golden Corral, which is a buffet-style, sit-down restaurant; really good food there. And reasonably priced, too! Tonight is Kid's Night, and we kids ages four to twelve (I am 11) get to eat for under two dollars, all you can eat, too! Not bad if you ask me! I will write more later if you write back to me. I would really like to hear from you because the Monster keeps lording it over me that she got more mail, and I am SICK of it! 'Bye for now!

This reminds me of Dack a kid here in Virginia with musclar dystophy but he races with his father in the marathons. He is quite the hero even though he has a disability.
