Johnny tries again to email his friend in California. He tried to email her the last time, and his letter didn't go through.
Friday, the 19th of November, 2004 (six days 'til Turkey Day and our company!! I CAN'T WAIT!! :D)~
Dear Rebekkah~
Hi! Thank you for writing; it was good to hear from you! But I went to send my letter, and for some reason, it wouldn't take. So I don't know if you got my last letter or not. So I am trying again.
I am glad you are such palsie walsies with my sister, the Monster. She is a bit of a braggart, isn't she?? She is always going on about her hobnobbing with the stars (or singing on stage with them!), and it really makes me jealous! I am also glad you aren't mad at me because I am in a wheelchair; I was afraid that you wouldn't write to me because of that. I hate it when people won't write to me when I tell them I have md; it really makes me feel crummy! I wish I could sing like Ronee' (okay, maybe not just LIKE her, as she is a GIRL, and I am a BOY, but you know what I mean! LOL); but I just don't have the lung power any more, and I have to use oxygen, which is a pain! But I AM glad to be still living; I want to be around as long as I possibly can!!
I really like the picture you put of Reba on your letter; she is really sweet, and she didn't mind it the first time I met her..I got so nervous I cried! But that is better than what my sister the MONSTER did when she first sang on the Opry at the age of five: she got so nervous and scared she threw up ON the stage of the Grand Ole Opry! It was disGUSTing; but I thought it was hilarious! I LAUGHED until I thought I was going to DIE! Of course, SHE didn't find it very funny, but boy, I sure did! LOL She STILL gets mad at me whenever I bring it up!! HEE HEE! And here I am telling YOU about it! LOL She is gonna' killll me..........LOL I hope you get to see Reba soon; she puts on a fantastic show, and she is so nice! I have also met Loretta Lynn (another cool singer I like, but Ronee' is the Loretta Lynn fan in our family!), Ronnie Milsap, Tanya Tucker, Doug Kershaw, and many more. I even got to meet Jerry Lewis and Ed McMahon from when I went to Las Vegas for the Telethon a few years back, and they were nice, too! I also got to meet Mattie Stepanek, who died this year from his md, and he was such a courageous kid! Always had a smile on his face, and smart! WOW! He made me look STUPID!! LOL Do you watch Reba's show on the WB every Friday? I do; it's cute, and I really enjoy it!
I love Sue Thomas, Private Eye too, but Ronee' hates it. She has never been big on guns or shoot-em-up action or car chases on tv; but me, I like that stuff. It's exciting! I think the actress who plays Sue is incredible! I think that is great that she is doing something she loves, even with being hearing-impaired; and it gives me hope that I can do whatever I want in life, even though I am disabled! (I just hope I live that long; I don't want to die young...I have too much to do!!)
No, I have never heard of the Messianic Jews; shows how stupid I am. LOL I would like to go to your sinagog (or however it's spelled!) and learn some Hebrew; the only Hebrew words I know are Shalom, yamulke (the hat the boys or men wear during special Jewish events), and Yesu, which I know means Jesus. I am glad you get to go to Pentecostal services with your friend; we go to a cool Pentecostal church that is more nondenominational (all faiths are welcome to come to the services!), and we have some cool pastors. We go to Christ Community Assembly of God, and we always have lots of fun there! You have got to come to our church if you ever come to Tennessee; we'd love to take you! I am glad that you are believers in Christ and are saved; but I have never heard of Jewish people who were saved! You must be a special kind or something! LOL
I am glad you want to be a dancer and you won't let your disability stop you. I hope you make it to "America's Most Talented Kids"; I bet you'd win! Ronee' tried out for that show last month, but she choked during the auditions, and she got scared; so she didn't make it. I felt so bad for her! It seems that she does great during performances at church, nursing homes, hospitals, or even the Grand Ole Opry, but when it comes to being on tv, she freezes, and she messes up. She did make it to "Star Search" earlier this year, but she didn't make it to the finals. Still, she did great, and she was happy with her making it to the semi finals; but the girl who sang against her was better, and so she deserved to win. Ronee' knew that too, and she took her loss like a true champion! Maybe she'll end up on "America's Most Talented Kids" yet; she is good enough, I think! And I bet if she had her Cajun accordion with her, she'd REALLY bring down the house!! She is great at it!
I have to go now; have to go to lunch. I am HUNGRY! My tummy is growling, and everyone is looking at me. It's embarrassing! I will write you again when I get back home, so be expecting to hear from me again later on! Hope to hear from you later; you are too cool, Rebekkah! (Or can I call you Reba; after all, we ARE friends now!)
Nice write. I remember these people from a previous posting. I'm always glad to read about "The Monster". One day, you should try stepping out of the letter format to using this character in an adventure (or misadventure) story, maybe something for teens. Just a thought.
In "A Touch of Your Presence" are words that would inspire, encourage and strengthen one's soul when faced with challenges and difficulties and to know the awesomeness of God's power.
