Zyon’s Final Legacy
21 November 2004
The air seeped with the feeling of wet mouldy slime. It was dark in the room, not the heavy darkness of the night tempered by the stars and the streetlamps, but the weighty darkness of heavy, drapery covered windows. Oh, some cracks of light still penetrated here and there, just barely enough that you could (once your eyes adjusted) make your way tediously through the maze of antique furniture adorning the once stately bedroom. Giant wardrobes, dressers and other tables and chairs surrounded almost as if guarding the mammoth, four-poster, canopied bed where she lay.
Her breath raspy and raw as a dragon’s roar rumbled through the room, the prelude to a death rattle or so I hoped. I entered slowly my two of my arms folded cross my chest the other two groping in the near dark to avoid knocking over anything. My sunglasses protected my eyes from any light not blocked out by the drapes. Reaching her bedside, I removed the custom-made leather gloves that concealed the missing two digits on each hand. As the tips of our three fingers on each of our hands touched, our thought processes connected. No verbal communication was necessary.
My principal breeder, what the earthlings call a mother, was dying. I knew neither I, with my life force re-juvenization process package, or the earths immature but practical medicinal solutions could help her. Zyon was still a she, unlike the newer principal breeders who slipstream through the second wall into earth’s atmosphere. The new breeds were gender neutral. The earthlings first gave us the idea when we saw their odd mutations of male/female I believe they refer to as an Aphrodite. Regardless, I digress, my principal breeder was now on her third life cycle and over 250 years old she, her clock was running down.
It was her time to pass back into a non-physical entity or die as the earthlings call it. A sleep mask covered her almond oversize eyes that I once so loved to gaze into.
“So you came to see me off, that was predictable of your father’s humanity breeding, I see you are still able to use some of your telepathic powers at least.” She imaged the message to me.
“It is nice to see you too Zyon.” I imaged her back.
When our breed first came to earth over a 500 years ago from Xcalibra, it was decided by the elders we would adopt as many of the humans traits as possible including naming. Up until then, with telepathic imaging we had no need for verbal communications or names, only mathematical equations were assigned as identification as required. Since earlier days the leaders assign names, she wears the name Zyon, and so I became Sonzyon. I was an experiment that went astray when our elders decided to try mating our breed with the earthlings and I was the deformed result. My body bore the silvery grey skin, oversized, light-sensitive almond shaped eyes, my appendices had only three digits on hands and feet, and of course, the two extra arms of our Xcalibra planetary breed.
You see I looked perfectly fine to all my fellow breed but that is where it stopped, from my human father I inherited the genes he possessed that made him human such as love, fear, hate anger and all the other emotions that our alien culture had strained our of our systems many ions ago.
So there you have my situation…spurned by both sides of our two breeds and unable to be feeling love from Zyon or John who I found out he never knew I existed. It would have been way beyond his comprehension or ability to grasp the relevancy of his drunken and later medicated one-night stand with the projected humanoid beauty that Zyon had lured him away from his favourite bar to copulate and create.
“So did you find yourself a nice pale human of the female gender to plant your seed in yet Sonzyon, or do you intend to just slip it back into the side-slip so the elders in Xcalibra can experiment and create more freaks like you?” This time as she removed her eyeshade and sat up her word imagery almost deafened the inside of my cranium her message came across so venomously.
“Oh Zyon, as always I am so proud to have sprang from your body and yes as a matter of historical correctness I have found someone I am now cohabitating with. She is a human and is already carrying our first son.” I really had planned not to tell her anything about it but her sarcasm had cut into my humanoid feelings of hurt and anger.
Zyon’s explosive, immediate response that crashed through in black angry images was not what I expected at all. So powerful was her attack that at first I could not even receive and transcribe the words with my mortal brain waves but finally Zyon fell back on her pillows and I saw something I’d never seen on another Xcalibra principal breeder before. The tears unlike humanoid tears ran in small rivers from the lower lid of each eye. Finally, an image came through:
“Oh Sonzyon, do you know what you have done?” she asked.
I did not. Nor did I know or understand how my principal breeder, Zyon, could display such weakness as the human frailties of emotions.
Therefore, I just shook my head.
Zyon reached for the one human pleasure she allowed herself…the Cuban cigars she always kept handy in a humidor by her bed. Removing the cellophane wrapper and snipping off the tip before striking the wooden match seemed like she was almost stalling trying to figure out her next mental image transfer before sending letting it flow through the atoms of my inner space.
“Sonzyon, I should have told you this a long time ago but I didn’t and now I fear it may be too late. You see when I copulated with your biological father for the leaders doing the intergalactic breeding testing many things went wrong. Not only the obvious birth defects you were created with, some things happened to me as well that I couldn’t explain and didn’t dare tell the leaders.”
She paused here lit her cigar sucking greedily the heavy smoke through her lipless mouth exhaling a cloud that hung in a blue haze over our heads. I did not know where she was going with her conversation but I decided it was prudent to hear her out as she continued.
“You see Sonzyon I was only a young breeder at the time not more then a hundred and twenty years old or so. I thought I knew so much but I knew so little, when they put me in the breeding cell with your father and he began to copulate something went wrong inside of me. The earth qualities they call emotions and personalities transfer this way but the leaders did not know this at the time. As he (your father, began the earth breeds method of seed transferral I felt things stir and move inside me that I’d never felt before and when we finished the feeling I felt the most was a strange one of longing, needing and craving that he would feel the same in return.”
Once more, she paused, and complained of the dryness of the room, though the humidity hovered like a tropical rain forest after a heavy rain. Going to the kitchen, I poured her a glass of the thick green Gavata juice imported from our native planet. After taking a final long draw off the fat Cuban, she stubbed it out and slurped the large drink back almost in a single swallow.
“I guess,” she went on “It is known as “love” to earthling breeders but whatever it was and I had received this gift from him. Infused with other earthly emotions such as anger, hate jealousy, curiosity, even humour but I had to keep them secret or the penalty for me would have been instant annihilation by the leaders. So all these years as I watched you grow, I had to conceal and hide these feelings even from you Sonzyon. I wanted so to hold and hug your young silvery skin as a nestling, to hold your three fingers in mine, even as you went off disguised to your first day at earthling school for the first day, human pride made me want to clap and cheer for you at those earth activities you participated in. When you were trans-slipped through the second curtain to begin your education transferral processes on Xcalibra, I missed you and longed for your return.”
She shivered though the temperature in the room hovered close to 100 and she tried to rise but plunked back down on the bed to weak to sit as she had hoped to. She was tiring and I could see the strength seeping out of her even as she spoke but she refused to rest. I suggested we finish the image transferral process in sub-conscious communication mode but she shook her head no.
“Sonzyon, the irony of this story that I’m telling you is that the earthling breeders such as your father and now your chosen life mate also suffer effects of cross galactic breeding. That is why the leaders chose to stop the breeding experiments between our worlds in 1945. You see the effects on human are to increase their blood lust to astronomical proportions as well as in bed in them a natural charisma that can induce masses of earthlings to follow them blindly.”
I held my hand up to stop her. “What has this got to do with me? My principal male breeder died when I was just a youth you told me Zyon. So he can’t be any trouble now.”
Sonzyon, you still don’t get it, the results of these banned breeding show up in this world every so often and when they do, chaos and mass death usually follow. Mussolini, Ayatollah, Sadam, Manson and Nixon, these are but a few examples of Zcalibra/Earth breeding. If you allow your new life mate to carry this offspring to term you will be creating another monster, please heed my words.”
I sat coldly glaring at this creature on her deathbed not wanting to believe, yet knowing though deceit by not telling me this earlier was possible for her, outright lying was not. I knew with a deep agonizing sadness that the words she spoke were true . I knew I would and could not take a chance of unleashing another monster onto the world. I rose and turning from the bed coldly started to leave her side when her words stopped me at the door.
“Sonzyon, it’s also time you knew who your principal male breeder really was as well so I’ll tell you, your father was not a Canadian named John but an Austrian-German man. Very dashing very handsome by earthling standards with a short trimmed moustache, his first name was Adolf and his second name…
I shut the door loudly as I left before hearing what I knew she would say,
The End
