Wednesday, November 24, 2004 (Thanksgiving Day Eve)~
My dear, precious sweet Children~
I am so blessed; I don't know how I could even live my life without any of you. I and your father have been blessed from God with your being our children, and our lives haven't been the same since He brought you to our home--or to our hearts.
On this pre-Thanksgiving Day, I want to tell you why you are all so special to me. You bring me endless moments of joy (and some tears), and you bring us both hope and triumph in all that you do and accomplish. You bring us your youthful spirit and zest for living; and you have taught us much about what it means to be parents. You have taught us about tolerance and acceptance, and you have taught us that you can accomplish whatever you desire in life. You have taught us that even though you may have obvious "disability", they haven't stopped you, and you have managed to soar above all expectations placed upon you. You have shown the world that even though you may have disabilities, they don't have you, and you have proven to be champions in more ways than we would have ever thought (or dreamed) were possible.
You have flourished and grown under our love and guidance, and the change in you has been nothing short of extraordinary. You were once broken vessels with little hope or future; now you are blossoming, thriving flowers in God's Garden, and your futures just brim with promise! It is incredible at how far you have progressed in your daily lives; and you continue to challenge and inspire all that come in contact with you. You also bring courage and faith to the hurting, and you have shown people that if you can overcome any obstacles, then, by God, then they can too!
We are indeed thankful to God for you, and we are indeed thankful to be your parents. Even though we aren't related by blood, you are still as much our children if you had been BORN to us, and nothing (or nobody) can ever separate the love we have for you. You are our "Forever Children", and God has blessed us by bringing you to our home. We are thankful for the love and caring you have shown towards us during the years, and even though there were problems in the past, you have triumphed beautifully over them, and you continue TO grow and soar! God has big plans for all of you, and it is exciting to think about what the future may hold!
So, as your mother, let me be among the first to say thank you for being my babies, and thank you for all the love you have shown your father and myself! And let me be among the first to wish you the HAPPIEST Thanksgiving Day EVER! May it be full of untold blessings, and may you never forget to give thanks for all that God has bestowed upon you!
