Louisiana Sandusky in Tennessee wishes her friend in California a happy holiday season. Her friend has been ailing lately, and Louisiana wanted to let her know that she was thinking of her during this "Turkey Time".

Dear Louisa May~
Howdy from Tennessee, land of the Grand Ole Opry, country music, hilly terrain, and friendly, down-home folk! I am writing today to let you know that Kendra and her brood got here safe and sound, and that we all wanted to extend our Thanksgiving wishes to you and yours! Our friends from Alaska, Jenna and her husband Michael, and Sikik Grace Eegeesiak, also got here in fine shape; and now we are awaiting the arrivals of my daughters from Colorado, Texas, and Louisiana (Lightning and her brood, Dwerlina, and Tanya), and also our friends from Fort Worth Texas (the Pearson family). I am in the kitchen, laughing as I am talking to Jenna, Michael, and Sikik, and Kendra and her daughters are also helping both my husband and myself.
I am on vacation now; I am on vacation for a week. It is going to be so nice not to have to work Thanksgiving, and it will be nice to get away from the rigors of hospitaldom! LOL I got off work early this morning at 11, and I went to the airport to pick up Kendra and her brood; and we just got back, only to find more vehicles in our driveway. We were pleased to see that it was Michael and Jenna from Alaska, with Sikik in tow; and we just came in and brought in their things and removed their wraps. The traffic was heavier than normal, but I was really careful, and we got back to my house with little or no problems, thank the Lord!
How are you feeling today? I pray you are feeling somewhat better and stronger. Kendra (and also Rebekkah) have been keeping me abreast of your health status, and I am sorry to hear you havent' been faring well lately. We have been keeping you in prayer, and I know you must be lonely without Kendra and her brood. But you will have Rebekkah and her parents over; at least you will have SOMEBODY to spend Thanksgiving with!
The house is spick and span, and my children are all outside, playing a wild game of tackle football; you can hear their screams of delight and laughter, and it pleases me to know that they are having a great time. They had their Thanksgiving party at school, and at 11, they came home, but at the time I was on my way to the Nashville Airport to pick up Kendra and her brood. The weather was rainy for a while, but it's since let up, and the skies are starting to clear up; tomorrow promises to be a much better day. We are going out to eat tomorrow at the Golden Corral; they will be open for Thanksgiving AND for Christmas; and after that, we will come home and watch the Dallas Cowboys play as we let our turkey-filled bellies flop around. (They may end up getting beat again; they haven't had a good season this year, much to our disappointment. At least the Tennessee Titans are having a better season than the hapless Dallas Cowboys!)
Uh oh...had better go; somebody is crying, and it sounds like Johnny. Yup, it IS Johnny: he is coming towards the house, and his nose is bleeding. (I don't know if he is crying because of the pain or because of the blood. He can't stand the sight of blood, especially if it's his own!) I think he either got kicked in the face by a wayward foot from a clumbsy kicker, or else the football hit him right in the snout; gotta' repair the damage and make sure that all is well! I will write you again; until later, Louisa, have a happy Thanksgiving, and may it be full of hope, promise, and untold blessings galore! I will tell Kendra that you say hi!

On this eve before "Turkey Day", let me wish each and every one of you a most blessed Thanksgiving full of all "the good things of life" and blessings beyond your wildest dreams! I will be gone a few days (library is closed; work tomorrow, Sat., and Sun. and am off Friday; will be back Sunday afternoon), and I shall miss my time here; but I wanted to wish you all the best Thanksgiving Day EVER! God bless each and every one of you!
