One day I kept thinking about a certain person and that person would not get out of my mind. I called that person and knew after only a few sentences that the person needed to hear from a friend right then. I was glad I had called.
I had a bad feeling, a very bad feeling about a family member. That family member was in a bad way. I found that out later. But I never did anything about that bad feeling. Next time I'll try to remember to.
I had a strong feeling to contact a neighbor. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day. I never did it. I ignored it. Later I found out that I should have. That neighbor really needed to have someone care. I wish I had shown that I do.
Today I was low and a person emailed me from out of the blue and asked me about some things they wondered about in my life. The things they wondered about were the things I needed to hear about on this day. I raised up in my seat with joy; a joy that only a "nudge" that is recognized and acted on can bring about.
I agree we get nudges taps on the shoulders and we don't always listen to them but when we do were glad we did they are a gift.

That's what real friends do and you know very well how to be a "real" friend.
This is so moving Lynn. I also agree with Kathy, we all get those special little feelings from time to time we feel the need to do something about!

You are a sensitive and gifted writer. A winning combination. I believe that we all get those "nudges". Some of us act on them and some don't. Acting on those nudges usually is a blessing because there is no greater feeling than helping a friend.
Our culture has taught us to believe in many ideas which aren't actually real. Exposing these illusions allows us to recover the power to live our lives according to our deepest desires.
