Like his sister, Ronee', did earlier, Johnny shares his biggest Christmas wishes and his thoughts concerning the holiday.
Hi! This is Johnny writing!
I thought I would share my Christmas wishes for this year, as my sister, Ronee' the Brainiac, did yesterday. My wishes are similar to hers, but there ARE some differences, of which you will soon see shortly. So here goes...
1.) First of all, I would like the terrible fighting to stop in Iraq or in other places where war is raging, and for people to stop hating or killing each other over stupid stuff. I would also love to see all these bad terrorists stopped in their tracks and punished for their crimes against humanity!
2.) Secondly of all, I would like to see the men and women defending our land be protected by the angels, and to hear of good news for once on the military front. We have heard for months and weeks about how another soldier died, and frankly, I am getting sick of it. I would like to see our fighting men and women get some help; they need it really bad! There are going to be many sad families this Christmas because their sons and daughters aren't coming home, and I really feel sorry for them!
3.) I would love to see CHRIST be put back into Christmas because it is His Birth that we should be celebrating, not all this other stuff, like the shopping or the silly stuff about Santa and his reindeer or hearing dumb songs that have absolutely no meaning to the MAIN reason why we celebrate Christmas! I would also love to see people praying again or being allowed to display the nativity if they so choose without anybody getting all bent out of shape about it! WHY can they put statues or displays of Santa Claus or Frosty the Snowman when they can't even have the Nativity? Something is most definitely wrong here...
4.) I would love to see families be together for Christmas or see ALL places closed for Christmas! NOBODY should have to work on Christmas, THE Most Important Day of the Year!! That BITES!! (My mom has to work Christmas, but it's only because she is a nurse, and hospitals don't close, as don't police stations, fire stations, or paramedic places; it's because their services are needed ALL year long! Mom works every other Christmas or Thanksgiving; if she is off Thanksgiving Day, she works on Christmas, like this year, but next year she will work Thanksgiving and be off on Christmas Day. It's been this way ever since she got her nursing job, and we are used to it.)
5.) I would love to see people who are lonely or forgotten (the homeless, the elderly, the vets, or kids in hospitals, or ANY person in hospitals) get some visitors or get something for Christmas; that way, they'd know that SOMEONE is thinking of them on Christmas, and that way, they won't be so sad on Christmas! I don't think ANYONE should be sad on Christmas Day!!
6.) I would like to see the government stop telling people how to celebrate Christmas when they have no business nosing in people's business! If they want to pray or sing about Jesus or have a Navity on their property, then by God, they should be ALLOWED to! Who are these people who act like such jerks, and think they can tell people what they can or can't do?? This is AMERICA, NOT a foreign country! We should be FREE, and we are NOT! And it seems that the Christians get the worst of it, and it is NOT right AT all!! We should be able to celebrate as WE see fit instead of being told what we CAN or CAN'T do!!
7.) I would like to see an equal opportunity for ALL people, including the disabled! The disabled are people too, and they shouldn't be treated so badly by most other people! I see it all the time; I see disabled people looking for work, and nobody wants to give them a chance, or they get the worst jobs because people think they can't do anything for themselves when in reality they CAN!! I would love to see people accepting them, and treating them like the people they ARE!
8.) I would like to see more people helping those who are in need, like the poor, the elderly, the disabled, the vets, or those people touched by divorce, violence, or abuse, and I would like to see more kids get involved in helping, not just the adults. That'd change their tune in a hurry, and they might even learn a thing or two in the process! (That's one reason why I ring the bells every year. I LOVE doing it, and it makes me feel good, as I know I am helping a person who has it worse than me.)
9.) I would like to see people smile more or be nicer to others around Christmas instead of acting like such jerks. I see so many grinches around the holidays it is unreal, and it makes me mad at how stupid or mean people have become. They ought to learn how to help others and figure out that the TRUE meaning of Christmas lives IN you, not in some store or present!! It's like the spirit of the season has been extinguished, and it really makes me sad!
10.) I would like to see more people go to church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and hear the Story of Christmas and think about the importance of this day instead of having to work or be seperated from loved ones or acting grinchy!
Well, those are my wishes. I hope you don't mind my sharing my feelings or thoughts, but I don't like what is happening to Christmas nowadays, and I wish the holidays were as when my parents were little. Back then, in their time, the holidays meant something; now it is just another day to a lot of people, and it is really bothersome! I wish I had been born back when my mom or dad were little instead of in 1992, when things started going downhill! I could have really had some great Christmas memories to share!
I hope you have a very merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year, and I hope you think about what I have shared with you. Christmas has gotten to be too commercial, and I don't like it AT all!

I am also sad because I lost my little cousin, Cajun Marie, on December 4th of this year, and I miss her. She had a lot of health problems, and she was sick a lot of the time. I know I should be happy for her, now that she is with Jesus, but it doesn't make it easier for the rest of us, and I loved her so much! So my Christmas is not going to be very merry anyway; so is it ANY wonder that I am so sad??
