Johnny writes of the recent tragedy that hit parts of the world that has killed upwards to nearly 80,000 people at last count (and the toll is expected to go even higher). He is understandably upset and griefstricken.

Dear Journal~
Unlike my last several entries, this write will be quite different. I am not having an easy time of it right now, and it seems that all I have done since Sunday is cry my eyes out...
On Sunday (my 12th birthday), instead of celebrating and being happy, the day quickly turned sad because of a horrible earthquake/sunami that hit parts of southern Asia that killed many people. At last count, according to the latest news stories, there may have been as many as 77,000 people killed by the earthquake/sunami (and the death toll is expected to go even higher). There are many, many more missing, and as more bodies are found and pulled out of the rubble, the death toll rises; and the numbers change; and it is amazing to think of the huge loss of life that has happened as a result of this disaster. Since we first heard of the tragedy, our family has been sad and numb with grief, and now, today, I find out that my mother and some of her coworkers from her job are going to go to Sri Lanka (this country had the most dead) to help out as needed. I am happy that she wants to help, but at the same time, I am scared that something will happen to her while she is there, and it really worries me.
We have been following the story on the news, as things develop, and it is unbelievable at how many countries, not just the ones affected, were affected by this global horror. There are as many as nearly 20 Americans who were killed in the disaster, as well as people from Israel, Germany, Australia, Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, Denmark, England, Belgum (I can't spell, sorry!), Finland, Switzerland, Norway, and other nations. These people happeened to be on Christmas vacation in the area when the earthquake struck; and then the two sunamis, and when the waters hit, nobody had much of a chance. Now there is nothing left but damage as far as the eyes can see, and the air is now filled with the sounds of screaming, crying, grieving people as they hold their dead loved ones or friends, or as they find out about their relatives. There are bodies littering the landscape, tossed about like dolls, and where there were once buildings or towns or cities is now left...well, a huge, horrendous MESS.
Mommy has a friend at her work who is an x-ray person, and she is worried about her mother, who went to her former home back in India to visit friends, when the quake happened; and now it has been several days since she last heard from her mother. The last time Deepa Arjuwal heard from her mother was on Christmas Day morning, when she called her, and when she first heard about the quake, she tried to call her mother again, to make sure she is okay; and she hasn't been able to get in touch with her, and she is scared and upset. Mommy and several of her nurses (plus several of the doctors) are thinking of going to Sri Lanka to help, and I am scared that something awful will happen to them while they are there, helping out the sick and the dying people out there. All I can do is pray, but I am still scared. I don't know what I would do if I were to lose my mother; she has taken such care of me (and my brothers and sisters!), and I would be so very sad if she was to die!!
Mommy has just told us about this, and all I have been able to do since then is cry. I don't want her to go!!! I wish she could stay home!! I wish she could change her mind, but no matter how hard I try, I can't get her to change her mind, and she says that she MUST go, as it is from God; and while I know I can't argue with God, I still don't want her to go so far away from me!! I am just a little boy, and I need my mother!! I love her too much!!
I can't write any more: I am crying too hard, and I already have more than enough problems seeing now! It's just making my seeing worse, and I cna't see what I am tyipng! So I will go now! Bye!
Karen a most compassionate sad write for this tragedy. It is one that will be with us for many monthss to come, and of course one we will never forget. Like I said to Karla as the world gets smaller with these tragedies may our hearts grow larger to help , pray and do whatever we can. Thanks for sharing, God bless all of His creation!

A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
