Cajun lay huddled in the corner. Her eyes darted around the small room. Silently she prayed her tormenter would not return. After brutally beating Cajun, to the point of losing consciousness he had walked away. Heartlessly he left her there to die.
Lying on the cold concrete floor, Cajun knew she needed to get help but every time she tried to rise a wave if pain swept over her, forcing her to give up. After yet another attempt, Cajun collapsed.

Every nerve in her small body screamed as she darted past her captor out the door. She didn’t stop until she was out on the street. Every muscle in her body hurt as she stood on the sidewalk trying to decide which direction she should go. Cajun desperately wanted to lie down again and sleep for a while. Sleep would do her good but Cajun fought the desire and hurried off to find the help she urgently needed.
A few block from the shabby apartment, Cajun collapsed. Lying on the sidewalk, a shadow loomed over Cajun and she tensed. Ready to run again. A soothing voice and comforting touch made her want to melt. Peace flooded over her as the blackness over took her again. This time she didn’t fight it, let it take her over.
