Ronee' writes about what she got for her Christmas birthday and of other things that are on her mind at the present time. She is bored, and she can't wait to go back to school.

Dear Journal~
Can one possibly die from boredom?? I am so bored now, it's not a dang bit funny! I have played with all my new games and toys, and right now I am more than ready to go back to school! I miss my friends, and I miss my teachers!
Hi! This is Ronee', and I am no longer 11 years old. I am another year older, and I am now 12 years old. Which means that I am on the brink of turning into a teenager (although my body has told me that long ago; I no longer look like such a little kid!). I still am short for my age and still weigh under 70 pounds, and I still have the fat-cheeked face, but other than that, I look a lot older than I used to.
I had a nice Christmas/birthday: I got a lot of neat things, including a new winter coat, a new hat, new earmuffs, and new mittens (they all match my coat), money (nearly $150) from my parents, tantes, and uncles, art supplies, several new journals where I can record my thoughts, several new CD's (Usher, Loretta Lynn--one of her greatest hits of all time; it was one I didn't have!--, Reba McEntire, Ludacris, JoJo, and the Broadway musical "Annie", and the southern gospel group, the McGruders), new shoes, socks, bras, and undies, new stuff for my hair, hair gel, shampoo, scented body soap (I like the Flannel fragrance the best; it's from Avon), new electronic games, a video game (Shrek 2), several Christian-based books for kids and young people, the movie "Shrek 2" on video, and also the movie "Ice Age" on DVD. I also got a DVD player. That was my big gift. It was probably my best (and biggest) Christmas ever!
It seems hard to believe that I am now 12. It seems like only yesterday when I was a little whiny brat (my brother, Johnny, still says I am a whiny brat; when he is mad at me he calls me the Ronster, or worse, the Monster, which isn't very nice!), and it seems even more incredible that it has been four years since I had my stroke. I still have the numbness and tingling on my one side, and in my hand, but other than that, everything has since come back to where it was before I got sick, and I look--well, normal and HEALTHY. I still don't like to talk about the stroke, but it's happened, and there is nothing I can do to change what has happened to me, and I must go on and live out my life as best as I possibly can. I also can educate others, and I am still very busy with the work I am doing for the local Heart Association and the Stroke Association. I am also very busy with the JRA Foundation and the Arthritis Foundation, and the Asthma Foundation. I am a very busy girl, and at times it is a wonder I have time for anything else in my life! I am already plenty busy now! LOL
Add to all that, my book I did last year (book signings, appearances, etc.), and my singing and my church, and you have a peek that is my life. My life is incredibly busy, and I don't know HOW I could ever manage to do all this without the help of my Lord and Saviour! He has helped me deal with all the crazy happenings that has become a part of my life, and He strengthens me. I don't know what I would do if I were not a Christian because right now, even with everything that is going on, I still make Him top priority in my life, and He is everything to me!
I don't know what 2005 has in store for me, but I pray that it is as successful as last year was. Last year was probably my best year in terms of my health, and I hope that this trend continues. It's been a while since I was last admitted to the hospital (I had to go to the E.R. a few times, but I got to go back home after I got treated), and I can't remember when the last time when my asthma really gave me a problem. It's really been quite a long time since I last had a severe allergic episode, and I am hoping that this continues, too. Now, my JRA gives me fits once in a while, but I will have to take each day as it comes and try to cope with the limitations that having JRA has placed upon me. I have to count my blessings and look at how fortunate I really am; a lot of others don't have it nearly as good as I do, and for that, I can thank God! I am a really lucky kid! :)
One thing that I can say that I am looking forward to: I am going to try out for that "America's Most Talented Kids" show again on PAX when the crew comes back to Nashville. I didn't make it last time, but maybe this next time I will. I can only try my best, and hope that I can make it to the show. That would be too cool! I will let you know what happens as soon as this occurs, and I will let you know how I did. Hopefully I can say I made it to the show! :)
Well, I am going to go now, I have to eat. I am getting hungry, and besides, it's time for my meds again; and in order for me to take them, I have to eat, or else I can get pretty sick. ICK! I will write again soon; take care, and happy New Year! God bless you too!
~Luv, your pal, Ronee' Le-Anne ("currently bored, but otherwise happy with her life!") Reaux, aged 12. :)
P.S.: I have so far collected over $70 for the tsunami/earthquake victims of Southeastern Asia. So sad; it is incredible, the huge loss of life and the devastation facing these people...I pray for them every day, and I pray that they all get the help they so desperately need! :(
