Jodie writes her second entry into her new journal. She writes about the rainy weather and how bored she is.
Journal Entry.Part Two
Jodie here. How you doing? I okay.
I not used to doing this; it is hard for me to think of what to write in here. It take me long time to write with my head pointer thingie, and I get tired, my neck hurt, too. OW!
It stormy out today; rainy, yuck. I can't go outside to play, I'd get wet, feel like duckie! LOL Not good unless one put umbrella on my wheelchair, so I don't get wet! Instead I stay in house, watch tv, get bored. ;)
Ronee' bored, she wants to go back to school too. She is sleeping in bed, even though it daytime. I think her bones hurting her, that is why she lying in bed, sleeping. I am glad I don't have hurting bones; that would not be good!
Johnny is bored too, he play all his games, and he tired of playing with his big HUMMER car. He got HUMMER he can make go himself, it really cool, sound like big car, even have horns, lights! BEEP! BEEP! He want to go back school too.
I hate rainy days, can't go outside, have to stay in, and I get bored, nothing to do. Kind of hard to do things when I no do much myself. Kinda hard to play when I sitting in my chair all time! But me, I do okay, I can write, draw, have people read to me, hold me in their lap, make me feel good! I'll be glad when spring comes, I hate winter time, I hate cold weather! BRRR!! (Not cold now here, but will be cold soon, weather man say snow and cold by this weekend. Look like Christmas again.) I like spring best, and I like playing outside with family, friends! I don't like spending time in house all time, nothing much on tv lots time, and I get mad, cry, scream! Then mama, she have to hold me and try to find something for me to do, so I can get over my mad.
Well, I go now. Have to eat, take time for me to eat. I will write again soon. Bye!
just because jodie can't get out in the rain doesn't mean she has to be bored. there are many programs for disabled children to look into that stimulate the body and mind.

Just a thought my young friend in the wheelchair with the pointer thing also played chess. Just a suggestion.
Enchanta (50,000 words) is an imaginative young adult fantasy novel for children eight to thirteen that adults could also enjoy. The story has lots of magic, adventure and surprises.
