Jenna Aurora Doucet writes a letter to her friend, who is currently flying on an airplane upon her arrival back to the United States after spending a week in Sri Lanka, helping out tsunami victims. (Her friend is due back in Tennessee sometime tomorrow afternoon.)

Dear Louisiana~
I am so happy to hear that you made it through your week in Sri Lanka! I trust and hope that the remainder of your flight is uneventful not only for you, but also your colleagues! I was worried stiff when I first heard that you were going to Sri Lanka to help out with the disaster survivors over there, but I am so relieved that nothing happened to you while you were there! That is senSATional news!!
I was also equally thrilled to hear that you got my last email, and I am glad that you and your family are doing well! That is a huge relief off my mind! Michael and I have been praying for you every day!
I bet it was hard to see all the devastation and ruin, and the sufferage of the people; that had to have been so hard! I don't think I could ever do what you do, Louie, even if I COULD hear or have two good working hands or legs! I just don't have the stomach to handle the sight of blood or gaping wounds or the sound of people getting sick. UCH, I don't know HOW you can handle so much sickness and disease the way you do; I would probably be the one needing first aid if I were to pass out upon the sight of blood! LOL
I can't ask you how the weather is in Tennessee because you are presently on a big ol' airplane in the sky, but I will tell you how the weather is here in Anchorage: it is bitterly, downright COLD! BRRRRRRR! It has been in the sub zero category, and the winds have really been howling. We had a blizzard last week that dumped over 2 feet of snow on Anchorage, and it was slow going until just a few days ago. Some Anchorage residents lost power, and they just got it back yesterday, according to the latest local news reports. Luckily, I didn't have to get out in it (I haven't been to therapy since before the blizzard hit; I have been holed up in my apt., as has Michael; he hasn't been able to work due to all the snowfall), so maybe it was a good thing that I didn't risk my life (or limb) in trying to get out in the weather! I would realllllly have a huge problem...
The weather has also cleared; and tonight there may be auroras forecast. I plan on looking up (from the warm confines of our apt.!), and Michael is going to see if he can get to work tonight. If he can't then he will be home with me (which is how I prefer it, really; what if I needed help getting to the toilet or dressed? I certainly can't do it by myself!)! Have you seen any auroras from the air, or are you too far south to see any?
Have you heard from your husband or any of the children? I bet they are excited that you are on your way back home; I know I would be! I just hope the kids didn't try to kill one another while you were in Sri Lanka! LOL Have you heard from Sikik, Sari, or any of your other email pals? I heard from Sikik Eegeesiak; she called to tell me that her mother passed. She died a week ago from a heart attack; it was sudden and totally unexpected; so when you get back, please email her. She would really love to hear from you, and she is wondering if you are angry with her or something because you haven't written to her in a while! Tell her Jenna told you to write to her! Thanks!
Well, I know this is short, but I have to use the restroom, and Michael has to help me. I will write more later; I love hearing from you, and I miss it when you don't write! Take care, and blessings to you and your beautiful Northern Lights Family! Tell them all hello from Alaska when you see them upon your arrival home!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in cold, snowy, windy Alaska, Jenna Aurora. :)
